Union East Coast

If the union gets into NY and Cali, the whole company will be unionized. The word needs to spread around. Tell your coworkers to tell their coworkers, we need a union.

I am glad someone told me about this site. I heard California is in the middle of this right now actually. My supervisor is there covering sites for their meetings. Vote yes California!!!!!!!!

CP is a little like a union. At least you have a voice here. I know for a fact that mgmt reads the dogshit out of this blog.

Good thing they read it. Clearly, they can't comprehend the information on here and are not able to put an action plan in place to fix things. Pretty senseless to read it if no changes are made. UNION!

They been reading it and still think that the immediate supervisors are the issue, no, news flash... Its you. All of upper management, you all aren't worth the titles given. You can sit there, hand out your fancy awards, pat eachother on the backs and sugar coat bullshit. Your employees are telling you point blank period YOU are all the problem and the bottom line starts with respect.

Very well said! SPOT ON

A couple of key points........

1)Cafe pharma is nothing more then a website used to get a good laugh.

2) Work sucks no matter what you do. That's why we all look forward to vacation!

3) don't vote yes or no unless you understand the pros and cons.

4) if things are so bad, ask yourself why am I here? Respect begins with respecting yourself. If things were so bad for me I would just leave. I highly doubt a Union will fix all your problems.

I am in the Sales department and I know a good phleb can make me and a bad one can break me. I have good ones and I have some losers in my territory. The good ones can't stand the bad ones and the bad ones hate everything!

Will a Union change that? Good luck I wish you all well and I wish you were happier.

I'm sorry, you're in sales, you know nothing about phlebotomy or what we put up with. We don't even see sales reps in our PSCs, give me a break.

You are one of the losers that I mentioned. My job is to sell and not hang out at the PSCs. Do you think it's any easier hearing about how long the lines are day in and day out! Do your research before you start talking about unions. Once a whiner always a whiner!

Extremely intuitive if you can assess ones personality from a post on an Internet message board. Sales, a bunch of stuck up wannabes who sell shut they have no knowledge about. Let's pretend you don't know what it takes to walk in my shoes as I don't know what it is like in yours and leave it at that. I am sure you go every day super hard for labcorp there champ, good for you.

Ny needs to not mess it up this time. I know you are sick of walking around waiting for the next foot to drop, why the hell didn't you people in ny even get to the voting stage?
A vote only occurs after enough union cards are signed and then there is a petition for an election. Management can also challenge the validity of the composition of the group.

Do you even have a clue as to what we have to do everyday in a PSC? We are short staffed and over worked, and poor you have to listen to doctors complain about lines and waiting???? Are you even serious right now? What do you think we are doing all day?? Sitting there staring at each other making people wait? Sales, please, if you don't like people complaining to you go work at a used car lot, I'm sure you could sell water to a well.

Phlebotomy trying to unionize isn't even sales issue. I don't understand why this sales rep is all up in arms. He must be one of those sales reps that complains about PSCs to upper management. I swear these little lackeys need to just stay in their lane.

I work in sales and if i was in phlebotomy i would would yes for a union. For the sole reason of taking on labcorp and righting a right. Labcorp treats ALL of their employees in a shitty manner. Sales is not immune to living in fear and abuse tactics. From everybodys post here it just perpetuate's the main problem.. (The culture ar labcorp is not a team effort and not many people feel happy with the company as a whole and respect lacks for co-workers and there is no company spirit). Everything at labcorp is comparmentalized and it shows on a daily basis that everybody only cares about their job or department and synergy lacks. No where in any of these poats is the patient mentioned which is supposed to be the most important thing. Clearly, the lack of direction from upper management and the culture they set forth shows on a daily basis. I wish sales had a union too. Not all of sales people are stuck up wanna be's, we do care too. The company got to big for it's own good, is the problem

That is the problem*

You're right, not all of sales is bad, but there are some major douchery in NE sales. Especially in my area, these sales reps act like they sign someone's paycheck.

If the company wants satisfied clientele (patients/accounts) they have to begin with their employees. It's a ripple effect which needs to start at the top.

It absolutely starts at the top. Where do you think some of the sales reps and bad managers get their direction from? Leaders at high levels set a culture. That is their purpose. Whether or not they intended for the culture to exist like this is irrelevant because it is the culture they created and allow to exist. These reps and managers aren't going rogue. They act like this because they are made to feel like this. Sales has ridiculous quotas to achieve and the company never wants to hear excuses. So, the quotas depend on every division to follow through and it doesnt always happen. I used to get upset but now it's because everybody is overworked, understaffed and geta treated like shit. That is the truth i know.

Now imagine how you feel and add the pressure of having people's lives in your hands. That's how phlebotomy feels.
