I don’t blame reps for having such a narrow lens on the OBU inner workings. You’re pointing the finger at the wrong person. Your disdain should be focused on Perry, the architect of the obu dysfunction from the inception. From structure to personnel. Areas that don’t have quick fixes too and ultimately won’t see true change until the acquisition goes through. Similar outcomes have occurred in the NBU

Goals are a direct reflection of our forecast set by Perry and Fleming. Mike has to meet those forecast regardless of how unrealistic they are. Most reps cannot comprehend that. Talk to a NBU rep about their goals, same shit, different unit. Perry and Flem are book cookers.

Studies are created and funded by our Medical team which reports to a global head, a complete misaligned clusterfuck. With that, new studies aren’t completed overnight. Those post approval studies should of been sourced and funded before launch. Regardless, Mike has zero control over that. Are you familiar on the role of a sales VP? Our useless Managed care team reports to a separate business unit and has zero accountability to Mike or John. Things are happening to change these dynamics but it’s a process. Your post demonstrates how clueless you are. Get to know Mike and you’ll see a genuine competent leader.

Believe it or not the best thing for this OBU is the merger. it seems we are sticking around. Perry and Fleming will no longer be calling the shots. Let's face it, Perry is an inept leader emotionally unaware and not genuine. this is nothing new. Mike will guide us in 2019 and all we can hope is the new Takeda leadership will have realistic expectations and hold others accountable for non performance i.e our managed market teams.

My honest feeling is Mike should pull back a bit on the "realistic" goal number and Medicare not being included because that is BS. This entire OBU lacks teamwork and I really hope it changes with the new structure and leadership. I do believe he is genuine for the most part but like all of these companies it is preferred to just nod your head and say "YES"

Are you getting updates from your managed care teams as he promised or are you still finding out from customers- blindsided?
Are you selling that new Retina portfolio he promised?
Have you seen new studies on Xiidra?
How about the Med-D coupons that were supposed to come back- you equiped with those?
Maybe you are getting more samples than before?
Better communication about samples? Meetings, Programs, anything?
Did you get to interview for the FAM position? Did anyone in the OBU get one of those positions?
How about the team that calls on speakers and other high profile docs? Get to interview for those positions?
What has he done to change the culture?
Has your bonus become obtainable? More fair?
How about Shire Rewards? You getting those?
Has he encouraged you in any way? Left you a congrats message?

What ever do you mean? We had that rockin' kick ass mid year meeting super fun, and this totally great end of the year push for 90 days so that it can look like xiidra is growing is awesome! we have these totally attainable goals with complete transparency and know exactly how many actually hit goal. Not to mention the managed care access is on point! And the science...selling on the science instead of schlepping ask iiris and pumpkin spice lattes and lunches (my manager said nothing says xiidra like a PSL) and let me tell you they're right!

Everyone loves it here, people aren't looking to jump ship in the next two weeks ...

MC has no idea how to be an effective leader. His email today responding to John's email is pathetic. He does not have a clue about leading or creating culture. Culture is something you instill, nurture and care for. He has provided nothing like that. I have worked for great Sales VP's and then, guys like MC. He may be a great guy, but if most people don't feel that way, then how effective is he? MC's job is to support the salesforce. To fight Perry and Fleming for us. Any of you feel that? You feel like someone is out there fighting for you? Helping you with resources that will help you be successful? Ask IIRis? You shitting me? And, to the people who belittle others who post here anonymously; be the brave man/woman you pretend to be and post your name. Cool Aid drinking, ass-kiss! I'm sure we can figure it out as MC is surrounded by 3-4 people. I can't wait for Takeda to put effective management and leadership in place. Or, for them to sell us to someone who will. I wish there was a place that was anonymous like CP but with more focus on how to fix things rather than bitch about it. For now, this is the best we have.
 






MC seems like a nice enough guy; he is simply not a strong leader. In times of change and ambiguity, strong leaders will rise to the top and people “buy in” and follow. The opposite is happening here and it speaks volumes!
 






Ridicules post! MC has never been in primary care - ever looked at his background? For anyone to spew that it’s worse now than it was a year or so ago is just as crazy as KK! The OBU ain’t perfect but it is much better since MC and JC arrived. My problem is not with MC, he’s been great to me and I like where he’s taking us. My problem is with my idiot ZD. The ZDs simply kiss ass and try to protect themselves. I am not 100% sure how much opportunity they have to contribute as I suspect MC just rolls down his master plan. Regardless, ZDs don’t contribute much. On the few national calls, it is embarrassing how much they kiss ass and brown nose. I guess I would fldrink the koolaid too if I was getting $75k-$100k in stock each year as a ZD. You wonder why they kiss ass and don’t stand up for the field? $$$
