Labcorp mangement

Now Labcorp is forcing Southern Calfornia cytotecs to work weekends for 3 weekends in a row and refuses to pay them overtime. As the other poster said, they pay what they refer to as "premium pay" which is analagous to a small shift differential and is not overtime. Cheap bastards. It robs the state and federal government of payroll taxes, and in addition to salary theft, it robs the worker of retirement income, in terms of employer matches.

Monrovia has a supervisor and a manager who both cytotechnologists, but are NOT working on weekends while forcing the other cytotecs to work. Now that is a waste of human resources. Why don't you force those two to work 3 weekends at premium pay?

You can thank the might Corporate quality department for this disaster. TN has been in charge for years and the labs are still a mess with antiquated SOPs, horrible TAT and cytotechs required to work on the weekend without state mandated compensation. As long as Burlington calls the shots, don't expect things to get better.

The current situation is a shame. It would only take a little common sense and a dash of humanity to fix most of our issues, but that would be asking too much.

Common sense, humanity, and most of all EMPATHY is severely lacking here. Any of these words used in the same sentence with Labcorp, is an oxy moron! They have no core values. The vast majority of companies have company core values as to how employees are to treat each other and clients. Here is the deal after 3 grueling years of working here. If it doesnt fit into the budget or is not an idea on how to cut expenses, then nobody in management wants to hear it! That is the absolute truth about management at Labcorp and ultimately what will be their demise in losing talent and being being able to attract future talent. Main Example - compensation plan. That atrocious plan speaks for itself

No one cares. Issues everywhere from billing, lost samples, psc complaints, concerns with results, missed tests, beacon down, supplies not delivered. There is no support here. I jumped to the wrong ship. Clients are not satisfied. Is anyone else out there having issues?

Get me out of this joint..this place sucks.. too many issues, drama, etc...budget,budget, budget...that's all i hear.

If anybody is contemplating working here, know this about Labcorp management. There was a rep in my region that was an SDE (Specialty Rep) and had a great resume, management experience, and an MBA. The RMBD (Manager) had a high school degree. This to me spelled out the complete dysfunction in this cess pool of mediocrity. Don't work here, this place is an absolute joke and an embarrassment to the medical community.

I hear you but suspect these same conditions exist in most large companies.

What a joke! Get that RMBD out! Hopefully he/she is already gone.

Of course everyone else is having these issue. This is just another day at the office for most reps that have been here. This is the labcorp norm! Reps know it, clients know it, patients know it. This place sucks. If you ask management why it is like this they will tell you they are working on it. They put a band aid on it by stripping resources from one area to fix another. While one segment is fixed they just create a new problem somewhere else. The real reason is because they hire incompetent/under qualified cheap people and on top of it, set them up for failure by understaffing and too much of a workload. They are cheap and do anything to stay under budget! It will NEVER change here! Get out now

Don't kid yourself..there are tons of large companies that operate well with governing principles and core value. The companies that are big and run like labcorp, are banks and they have much more red tape then we do.. Plus, labcorp still operates like it is the 1980's so that doesnt help either. It's like they have two cultures clashing creating an identity crisis. For example, you have some long time tenured employees who are not qualified for their current roles in this current climate and their underlings have much better resumes and education. You can't have an RMBD with a high school degree and all the reps have college degree's and and master's. It doesnt work!

Congratulations on earning your degree. I bet your mommy is proud. Nobody else is impressed. Answer the following: which counts more in business- a degree earned by attending lectures given by profs who likely never spent a day in the real world, OR the equivalent amount of hours spent in the trenches working?

Your degree is valuable. If you frame it and place it on your dashboard, they will let you park in a handicapped spot!

Experience counts more than school. Every time. Get off your high horse and show some respect for those who earned their titles by proving themselves in real life.

Ps. I hold a Masters. The people you look down upon teach me something new every day. You arrogant poser.

Sorry pal, you couldn't be more incorrect. That post is laughable to any professional. Can you learn how to treat a patient and write scripts out and call yourself a doctor? No.. Can you go be a lawyer by standing in court rooms? No. Can you be a VP of a company without an MBA? Possibly at Labcorp, but good luck anywhere else. Not putting anybody down, just stating the facts. Sorry you can't handle it.

You're right that some jobs require formal education. Management isn't one of them. Good managers learn through experience. The skills aren't obtained in school.

Are you one of those millenials that came out of University expecting the world to fawn over you? Get real.

This is a business, and the market generally rewards value. Not credentials. If you're at the bottom of the corporate ladder, it's either because you haven't done anything to distinguish yourself yet, your work ethic is weak, or you're a rookie and you haven't paid your dues yet.

So, I guess all the top companies that require an a degree to be a manager, coupled with experience, and a top notch management training program - must not know what they are doing? By the way labcorp has no management training program and the weak results speak volumes. Don't talk so stupid, labcorp is a breeding ground for bottom feeders and is a joke in the business world. "Skills are obtained in school". Spoken like a person who never went to college. If u think there are good leaders at labcorp then you are delusional.

Any fortune 500 company who does require their management to have a college degree is not a company to be taken seriously. This is the year 2015

You must mean LabCorp isn't one of them. You distinguish yourselves by how well you such up, brown nose, and kiss ass. You should have been well trained on those techniques by you college fraternity. Learn by what experience ? Being a loud moth ass hole?

If you had the good fortune to have gone to a good business school, you would know how just how wrong you are. The lack of well trained managers is the main reason for the sorry culture at LC. There is a reason students come from all over the world to be educated in the US. The reason LabCorp doesn't want formally trained managers is because they micromanage everything. They can take a high school drop out because it is not a legal regulation not to do so. And if they are going to micromanage every move you make, what's the difference? College grads, who have to pay back those student loans, come a dime a dozen now.
