CIBA VISION OPENINGS!!!

Are there any experienced reps at Ciba? It seems like they're starting from scratch. Why the huge surge in getting so many reps on board at one time? Is this going to turn into big pharma?

On the contrary. At my interview there were several existing reps there to chat with in between interviews and their tenure ranged from 11 to 25 years! All of the managers there had similar tenure as well. I was very impressed with that and that's one of the reasons I took the job. You don't see that very often in this industry. The reason they are hiring so many reps is because they are expanding nationally.

Does the expansion have anything to do with the Alcon acquisition? Will Ciba start selling the Alcon lens care products along with their consumer products? Is this the first step in combining parts of the two companies? Seems like an awful lot of jobs opening up for it only to be projected increases in Ciba product alone.

No, it won't let me apply again. I did apply a couple to other territories just to see what happens.

I did that as well and they took the other 2 apps and wanted to set up phone screens...and the system won't allow you to apply to any one position twice... I would guess that all of the territories would still accept applications..if nothing else it would add more to their database now and in the future...the care line told me that they might be delaying some of the training..don't konw if there is anything to that. I told them that I remain skeptical..

Just called the candidate care line and was informed a final decision was made for the territory I applied for. I think the people that didn't get a call, like myself, need to move on. A better opportunity awaits us. Good luck and wishing you much success!

I completely agree, there are better opportunities out there. Best of luck to everyone.

wow..when you think about how long this process has been....first applied the last week of March, phone interview, flew to in person i/v,.....then wait over 2 weeks. exhausting

So, how about a little help for those still trying to work our way in?
What was the phone interview like? Basic situational questions? Were there any questions in the PI that you thought were unusual or stood out? THANK U...it's tough out there.

yes basic situation questions..."tell me about a time you turned a customer around and they bought from you" etc etc... nothing unusual to throw you off or anything like that.

If you have any sales experience you can draw on, you should do fine in the PI. The F2F was a bit different. 2 or 3 sales managers (most who seemed holier than thou) ask rapid fire situational questions posed by HR. Then yopu get to sell Organic Wine to a bunch of people.....Loads of fun. The funny part is, I sold wine for over 10 years and they questioned me on my wine knowledge and selling techniques.
