Biomarin is suing Ascendis about CNP patent infringement. It is correct, Ascendis did it. The next steps will be to reduce ranks of upper management, since there is no need for them with reduced product development pipeline and anemic performance of gene therapy. They have been hired by the previous CEO and were drag on the company by being useless or harmful. At least 5 persons are on their way to go in the US and 2 or 3 in Ireland

Some from high management are leaving? New administration coming and they might have cozy relations with the pharmaceutical industry? Replacements could be of 2 kinds: less qualified loyalists and those of some foreign origin. The second have already large presence in American pharma.

Amgen is planning a periodic purge for personnel replacement. May be different than usual dead wood cleansing. This time it will be in 2 stages. First will be some dead wood removal and second, some time later will be embracing the DEI pruning depending how the other pharma companies handle this issue. DEI word may not be used in that process. Later Amgen would have openings announcement, pretending to be a growing company. As usual.

Limited career opportunities. Despite financial strength there is poor overall efficiency and performance. This is due to employment characteristics with ethnic groups following their group interests rather than company interests. Could even discriminate against Americans.

Layoffs! Cell therapy in question. Gilead is in retreat, so how about Kite? Cell therapy is like a laboratory and clinical procedure development, not a typical pharma drug development. Often at enormous cost. And a market size and economics?

For what I do, the hours I put in, how much strain and stress it puts on me mentally and physically, I am not being compensated fairly. My coworkers aren't great people and the higher ups only care about money and not the employees. Not to mention the company profited Billions of dollars last year and I got a 25 cent raise.

Break is being used to prepare a layoff list. This time there will also be another list with managers to go. There is no other way to restructure the corporation for M&A plan. The CEO had enough time to realize who has to go in addition to the initial few and the reduced portfolio clearly does not need so many high and middle managers. Those who did the dirty work during the past layoffs would go too. And we know who.

Genentech under Roche is diminishing continually. Manufacturing related jobs are practically only in Oregon. There are fewer opportunities in R&D in SSF. Wonder what is going to be shut down next. Layoffs are probable in 2025.

CEO Alex H. has a problem. He was planted by Roche to help acquire cheaply BioMarin for its rare diseases and gene therapy business. Now Roche has lost interest in these parts of BioMarin portfolio. Meantime Alex hired senior team members to conduct the M&A process and prepared ground by streamlining the company thru layoffs. At the same time, the action was taken to lower the company stock price. Since Roche lost interest current interest should be opposite, eg. to increase the company value. This can be done by careful layoffs and pruning the incompetent and redundant or unnecessary management, for example, the Business Development VP, Chief Technology Officer VP, Technical Development VP, Or R&D Enzymes VP. Some cancelled future projects may be reconsidered in this new landscape. Question is whether Alex H is capable to bring back the company on the track considering his past experience at Genentech?

Unfortunately J&J is also actively supporting H1B visas initiative. This makes more difficult for American citizens to get meaningful and reasonably paid jobs here. Government statistics say that about 70% H1B visa recipients are Indian nationals.

Amgen denies opportunities for American citizens by actively sponsoring H1B visas, mostly from India and China. Amgen could claim they hire the "best", but they really mean they want to control scared and obedient people and pay low salaries. But there is no loyalty and often the American know how is transferred to other countries as well.
