Whoever you are, there is no doubt that Commercial needs to hold up their end of the bargain. But your position that, essentially, we need to be patient and just keep spending HUGE amounts of money on R&D with low output is an unsustainable model.

Your logic that "it is not time to shut down NIBR, it is Commercial's fault for not maximizing the assets it has" is a poor excuse. If the thread is about NIBR not producing, attack the accusation head on (which you have not done once, and for good reason....there is nothing you can say). Deflecting it into someone else's fault is shallow and weak. It's not someone else's fault NIBR's output is poor. It's not Commercial's fault, that is for sure. If you don't like Commercial's output, make a thread about that. This thread is about NIBR.

And by the way, I am in R&D. I'm not an MBA type, not a rep. I know what I'm talking about and you are wrong. I'm surprised the real Commercial people here haven't crucified you.

The commercial folk, you included, still seem to think that we're not holding up our end. I'm suggesting to you that perhaps you should get our house in order before throwing stones at mine. NIBR was established circa 2002, at that time the goal was that NIBR discovered therapeutics would hit the street some time in 2014, let's see ... We have 12 drugs in the clinic, it's 2012, oh my God, We'll have 2 more years to meet our goal!

Now, why don't you shut the fuck up start selling that POS Fanapt or if you don't have the stomach for working in human pharmaceuticals take your STUPID MBA and go work for some bank, and/or go fuck yourself.

Since when is it acceptable to take 12 years to come to market? That's not competitive AT ALL. Now that you've established that there is NO NIBR-driven revenue yet, and multi billions in investment, imagine how long it will take to recover that? Even if you are able to launch a billion dollar drug (of which no more than half is profit available to pay down the spend), it could take over a decade (or even longer) to pay back all of the spend and finally make profit.

The biggest question is how are you going to explain away wasting years of your professional career at a place like NIBR when you try and get your next job in research?

Thanks for the insights, guys. I've met some people from NIBR, and I have to admit they are really vacuous. I've also heard that most of NIBR will be restructured by the end of the year and a lot of the current people will be told to leave. I'm looking forward to working with people who want to make useful drugs, not useless papers.
