Salient Surgical Technologies

well it sucks now and I will be shocked if this company will be here in five years. with or managers looking to cut costs a $500.00 disposable that is not re-imbursable will be one of the first to go. blood management is good, however, this fixes a problem that really does not exist.

Exactly! Not to mention no studies to back up our claims!!!!! WTF?

I thought there were several studies out there. I remember speaking to a rep 3 years ago who gave me a copy of 2 studies he was using to get business from one of my docs. I don't see the product in any of my accounts any more and it used to be used in 6 area hospitals. What is going on? I was just contacted by a recruiter. Are there any consultants in the boston area?

We got rid of that guy a long time ago.

More likely white papers. We finally published an actual peer reviewed study and it was less than good.

As for Boston, Just hired someone.

Why not good? Does the technology work? Are they looking for more than one in Boston or is the recruiter not on the ball? How much business is there now? What happened to the young girl that was working with the guy you got rid of? She seemed to really know her stuff.

She knows her stuff in the bedroom....

In the study there were a number of important endpoints that ended up as NS or not significantly different than the control. Not good when you're trying to make a value statement for a $500 disposable.

I hear Zimmer may be looking for a new blood management tool to replace orthopat. They tried to buy us once. Any chance it happens this time? The regional guy I spoke with seemed to know quite a bit about our business.

I don't think Zimmer still sells the orthopat. That would be nice if they would because of the relationships those reps have. Hell, any joint company partnership would be great.

They lost orthopat quite a while back, but have not been able to pull the trigger on anything to replace it. The relationships would be nice, but might make us no longer needed.

Corporate does not want to marry us to any one joint company. Then you lose the ability to partner with the others as well. I would be surprised if Zimmer bought us. Not profitable, No studies but one completed and maybe, and that's a big maybe, one new product? Not desirable.

It is not a bad idea, the sales force would be 5x bigger and more feet on the street would mean more sales. Hopefully someone would buy us. I for one would love to have my territory reduced. This is getting old.

orthopat does the same amount of business today as they did when the zimmer guys had it. remember the other docs (non zimmer) guys knew about the device and could have asked for it but they chose not to. so if somebody bought you guys chances are you would not automatically get new business because those other guys would have already heard of your product and just because their implant guy would now carry it means squat.

blood management is a marketing tool that tries to create this huge need for a problem that really does not exist.

This place sucks!!! I can't wait to get out!

Then leave. Oh, I am sorry. If you could - you probably would have. OMG, that means that you are worthless talent and no one else would hire you. It is evident in the first two minutes that you interview for a position that you are not capable. Wow, I am feeling really sorry for you... stuck in job you are obviously not capable of performing well at but not able to find any comparable employment. That is a shame. Perhaps it is time to rethink your career choices? Maybe take a step back or go into some different line of work? Food service? Maybe. Or maybe you can get a job writing scripts on useless online forums? Yes, that is your calling.

Just hang in long enough they'll make you an RBD! Don't need any talent for that!!!!
