In the early days, yes there were reps who made over $200K. However to float the direct model boat and even have a shot at profitability, Eastwood and Co. kept cutting salaries and commissions, including commissions to agents they once had.
That started a downward spiral which has been made so clear by the obcene turnover. JA cannot run this like USS. Different times and different product(s). Then again USS is now held up as one of the great business model ..failures.
Even Eastwood eventually started cutting compensation as the fastest way to reduce costs of a direct model. That too was not enough and cost her and her minions their positions with the company.
If Army can stay profitable, grow sales despite the nasty turnover, then he has done his job well.
What's the base? total average compensation? high end vs. low end?
How is this thread still going strong? What the hell does Salient do anyway?????

Business model failures? I don't think so. If ignorance is bliss - then you are 100% bliss. Complete success, produced the best salespeople and created a training model that almost every medical device company now uses, most of these other med device companies are led by USS personnel. Continued growth ina competitive space over 40 years, recognized leader in innovation.... thats just crazy talk (failure) USS developed stapling when it did not exist and then developed MIS surgery when it did not exist... created totally new markets...
seems to me from what I hear form those who have interviewed, they are expecting to get top level talent with entry level pay and benefits. I they want the best talent I think they are going to need to up the ante, IMO. This technology, while it looks great, is slow out of the gates. Top level talent is not going to wait for miracle coding
coding? Surely, you jest! There will never be coding for this device. It is a supply item. Not to mention there is no one within Salient with a clue about reimbursement and no interest in going down that road. For god's sake, we can't even get a decent study done and published! Thank you for the laugh though.
Is it realy that bad there? I was contacted by a recruiter about a position in the northeast. Is it worth looking into? The posts here are making me second guess moving forward. Please advise...

Hey over on the Ethicon board there is a guy who claims they developed stapling and if it were not for them patients would all have huge scars. How is it that USS and EES are so great yet they are both known as entry level/get your foot in the door into medical sales? I dont get it.

Showing your ignorance again. Do some research - USS started stapling in 1967 - EES did not even get in the game until 1977. You expose yourself as ignorant every post. Are you mentally challenged?
Name me 3 non implantable medical devices that are reimbursable? Healthcare economics 101 - Procedures are reimbursed - not devices.... duh.
