Osteohealth

This company sucks. I think 1 year is the longest time a rep has been here. Maybe there are a few with longer track records but face it, this place sucks. Only come if you are desperate and need the money otherwise look elsewhere. The management comes from Pfizer and they micromanage you to death. If you thought you would enjoy working for pfizer then come on over to Osteohealth, it's pfizer mgt but small company money.

You are wrong about the tenure of reps. There are still several who have been there for more than 5 years. I can think of at least 4 reps who have been there for more than 5 years.

The rest of your post is 100% accurate.

Yes, all the talent left. As usual the dregs stay on, which is easy when you have such turmoil.

Osteohell is a great place now cause numbers and production are secondary to loading in your call cycle..

Correction, think back a bit farther than the past year and you can see the talent began draining out 2 years ago on their own terms. Others who were let go were due to the lingereing on "talent" underperforming and spending too much time undermining.

Osteohell is a lost cause.

The good talent within Osteohealth is all gone. They were either smart and left on their own or were complteely set up by the new back stabbing Pfizer management. Osteohealth used to be a good place when it was a tight group who all worked with one another because there was excitement, trust, and unity. Now the new pharma. influence has ruined the unity and has caused mistrust and disception throughtout the division. Typical Pfizer drone misfits. Pfizer managers don't manage for success..they constantly look to set reps. up for failure so they can fire them. One can't even call them managers....more like misprogrammed r*****s. Damn shame to a once thriving product line. One competitor is scooping up all the former Osteohealth talent and surprise, surprise.....they are experiencing a 27% growth rate.....on the back of Osteohealth which is in the red for the third consecutive year......love to see it.......

Hey...that must have been one of the new pharma. stiffs that needed to ask that question. Unbelievable how absolutely raped that division is getting all due to critically bad decisions the CEO has made......

Just because it's another option, doesn't mean it's part of the discussion. You fail to understand that pdgf is a superior product to bmp or EMD. .

You might want to learn a little more about EMD before you say things like the above. EMD is been shown to be osseo-promotive in a rat model (Boyan) and grows bone when placed alone in a perio-defect (Too many to list.)

EMD upregulates PDGF in the site along with a host of other growth factors, comes in a viscous gel and is cheaper.

Um, you might want to learn how to read and understand studies. EMD has NEVER been shown to enhance bone formation. All it has been to shown to do is increase clinical attachment in perio defects better than debridement alone. There is ZERO histologic evidence showing bone formation when using EMD. ZERO.

Do you understand the difference between bone formation and clinical attachment gains?

Why would Dennis say this to you? Why would this company let "everybody" go? Think about it. Do you think they want to hire and train an entire new sales force? Do you think that they will just sell through customer service? With all the competition out there, the sales team is the driving force to get product in the Dr's office.

He has already layed off 15 people and managers since he started. So...yes...this is VERY possible. And to the previous comments....EMD DOES promote new bone formation....just takes longer.....look at the longterm studies.......ones which GEM does NOT have by the way. GEM has no longterm data to stand on.......this is going to come full circle and hurt Osetohealth badly....and SOON !!!

He said this at the last meeting. Who knows why he says what he does. Maybe just to scare everybody somemore. But he did say that MJ wants layoffs. He also said more bad things about her like he always does. Just more typical stuff from Dennis and MJ.

was not there...

Regarding EMD, you are correct. Bone will grow (but generally only in deep 3 wall defects) if you wait long enough.

HOWEVER, for GEM - there is data on both 24 and 36 month follow up on GEM from patients in the pivotal trial with an ACTIVE control (largest, randomized clinical study in perio btw - what does EMD have other than case studies?). There was continued improvement through 36 months, with TCP increasing as well but never catching GEM.

Its in the GEM insert now if you dont believe me...

Dennis said layoffs. We heard it. How will they pick who goes and stays. If he is saying this now this means they probably already made made their minds up on who goes or stays.

That 24 and 36 month data HURTS the GEM story. PDGF impact slows considerably after the first 3-6 month bolus effect. The TCP controls actually show better improvements and gains in the 24 and 36 month periods where the GEM cases level off. Now take 48 and 60 month measurements and we will see that PDGF and GEM completely fall off and the TCP grafted controls overtake the GEM treated cases....Guaranteed...wait and see. Now look at EMD....every longterm case shows EMD cases continually showing better improvements in gains. YES it takes longer but last I checked the purpose of saving teeth is for longterm use...not 3 - 6 months short term results. Bottomline...if you are seriously looking for longterm success and continued bio-benefits from a material.....EMD is the BETTER CHOICE !!

What kind of crack are you smoking? Seriously? If you have a perio defect and your tooth is compromised, would you ....

A. use EMD with the hopes that in 5 years you might see some gains in bone if you still have your tooth or.....

B. use pdgf that shows rapid and immediate increases in bone formation within 6 months and CONTINUED increase in bone formation for more than 3 years.

Hmmmm, only a Straumann rep would choose A. I don't even work for Osteohealth but pdgf is a great product while EMD is snake oil.
