Layoffs?

Do you really think they are using any criteria other than "whose your buddy? whose your pal?" Get serious. They may start off using some secret formula but as soon as it weeds out someone's special buddy they'll just go back to the favorites game.
 
























I guess all of you who have made zero effort to maintain a good relationship with your manager are started to sweat a little huh?

Sounds like sales rep, senior, and executive rep status wont mean a thing going forward in regards to salaries. Only matters for variable comp!

I'm absolutely sweating it. I was inherited from a previous manager and the new guy has hated my guts from day 1. This is absolutely his chance to get rid of me. I've got excellent numbers but he has disrupted our team so bad, no one speaks to each other because no one knows how he is going to spin it to other team members. I'm really disappointed because it really looks like there isn't going to be any change other than our head count going down and some shifting of positions. same old same old.
 






Trust me, the impact that managers will have will have maybe a 20% impact. I honestly feel that manager input will be useless. It is just a way for the company to cover their ass. Look on the bright side, you will get a decent severance depending on how long you have been with the company and you will end up with a better higher paying job. Bottom line is, don't trust your manager. He will tell you that he will say great things about you, but really he will throw you under the bus.
 












Not sure who I am more sorry for....the reps that have been chosen to keep their jobs? or the lucky ones that get displaced and can pursue a happier life? These jobs at J&J are only going to get more cut throat with unrealistic goals to achieve in order to stay employed. And for what? To sell some overpriced devices that eventually will be replaced in accounts by more value based products! Good Luck! It will be fun to watch you overpaid reps actually have to WORK for you money!!! And don't forget, 2013 is only going to be more difficult to push those devices in healthcare after election results are in!!!
 












typical JnJ. Most Managers have more political skills than managerial skills. They will choose their friends. HR is worthless. Credo doesn't mean anything any more. It is used to be a great company to work for but it's over.

Thats not at all what I heard. In fact, he said that salary levels would remain the same in those levels. Some people may even be bumped up.

Agreed. I heard him say the base pay will remain at it's current level. It's the future compensation on commissions which will be changed.

I'm really disappointed. Our cronism is worse than in the government. I agree with the above poster who said it's all politics and not managerial. What a joke. All this change for what amounts to a minor downsize for the managers and a bigger downsizing for the reps.
 






Kip said not to do the math, but....didn't he say less DMs per regional? And the DMs are saying less reps per DM....If you do the math, it looks like 40% or higher cuts in reps.
 


















Can someone share with me what Gary P said at the Town Hall meeting yesterday? For some reason my department was told not to go, our managers were going to "let us know if there was anything important". Huh? isn't all of this integration/transformation/constitution/elimination/masturbation (I digress) important?
Just looking for a synopsis of the Town Hall, that's all....tired of not having transparency and only being able to get information from CP!
 












Am I the only one who is wondering how much Johnson and Johnson paid US News to be listed as one of the best places to work? You read any of the other post regarding JnJ and the all same the same thing. Worthless, backstabbing managers etc.... Of course we're expecting the king of all managers to make a difference which is silly. I sincerely hope Tim and Kip really take the opportunity to make some big changes. But I don't think it is going to happen.
