Intermune

Here is a good article on drug comparison, but you should actually read the clinical trials yourself. My concern is the InterMune compensation model, sales targets, and possibility of being bought out, and out of a job, before or shortly after launch. I have an upcoming interview; interested in hearing more about this position from the hiring manager.

This article is an opinion piece masquading as a scientifc analysis. Anytime you see an article written by Adam Feuerstein, wipe your ass with it, then throw it away.

Could not agree MORE!! AF is a huge piece of trash and has 0 credibility in the medical community and almost none in the investment community. If it wasn't for the clueless investors he would have 0 credibility all around.

So any word on salary...base and target bonus?

BI is going with $90-105 based on experience (could go a little higher for a tenured specialty rep) bonus is targeted at $35

I'd think ITMN would need to be at least 20% more

ITMN up to 120K + bonus 36k
Shares will be RSUs & Options
500 RSUs & 1,000 Options

Not that great for possible unemployment in very near future.

When the Boehringer trials are pooled, the relative difference in FVC decline was 54% favoring nintedanib over placebo. That's superior to pirfenidone.

ITMN stock to sink not rise; 4 billion market cap is a complete joke

Stock in 40s way overpriced. I'm gonna short this puppy.

Typical start up trying to take advantage of desperate reps willing to jump. I've seen my former colleagues way to many times in the unemployment line while upper management basking in $$
I know people interviewing. I am in oncology. I have not submitted resume and I will not for 1 reason. Too dam risky. Not enough equity for me to face unemployment as many have pointed out.

Good luck. Its going to be a daunting challenge. But at least you know you have 50/50 chance of capturing business vs. BI apparently.

My advice would be to really think this thru. As you know, they are for sale. Its not if they will be sold but rather when they will be sold. It could be in 1 month, shortly after commercial build up, 6 months, etc...
We shall see. If you have a family then weigh out possibly unemployment. Its tough to get another specialty job and usually takes 6mos to a year.
If you're single then go for the challenge if you have a few months saved up just in case.

Wish you all the best no matter your decision.

Recruiter told me max base of 145k. I have 18 years. I'm gonna make the jump. Stocks, new drug in ipf. Happy days are here again folks!!!

Happy days are here again!!!

Probably the most surprising aspect is the insane amount of interviewing that is said to occur!
Three rounds? These aren't newbies. No one needs three rounds and an assessment! Already sounds like management has decision making issues...or an intense desire to torture people. Not necessary.

The interviewing travel is going to be ridiculous I agree and all to the west coast.

Who can suddenly take that amount of time off their current position - with summer weather delays alone at every airport - these trips will end up a tiresome two day event each - with a forced overnight - and so are they willing to pay for a hotel + incidentals - with all the rhetoric about the 'start up' environment, it seems iffy...

(Unless they are targeting those without jobs, of course.)

Very old school jerk around the rep thinking! Save the money for the launch people - we will need it -

Hello?!! Ever heard of skype?

Not to mention they hoping to get 5 candidates per territory. A lot of people gonna be traveling for no reason.
Then the winners get to stand in unemployment line 2 mos later after buyout
Sounds like a great job to me.

Deep in the interview process

Two phone screens and one face to face at hiring event in San Francisco

NOT unreasonable

Max salary not disclosed but approx 170k TOTAL comp is realistic at plan

This has potential to be a great opportunity

High risk potential high reward

1) Anything past the hiring event in San Fran is a absurd - what are they screening for that could possibly be so hard to find? We aren't staffing a space station people. President Cup winners and you should be all set.

2) Management calm yourself down. This is not the 100M olympics. With all due respect.

3) $170k? Again: No way on Earth they can predict that UNLESS they already have coverage EVERYWHERE - what calculus are they using for this figure???

4) Of course, we all want a crack at launching this drug, however, from a rep perspective, the disappointment is starting to set in already - management is trying to be tough - tough in the interview process is just plain disrespectful to the amazing talent that sits across from them. We come to your company because we are willing to show you how this is done via our incredible resumes. Again, President's Circles & Cups and you have the team.

5)A successful launch. In this case hello Management, let the dog wag the tail - that's ENTREPRENEURIAL!! Pay me lots be nice let me run my territory = here's the sales!! One interview please and let me get back home to pack up my last job. Thanks!

Specifically to the #4 BS: Dude YOUR IN PHARMACEUTICAL SALES!!!! Your not saving lives or providing anything special 100000000 other people cannot do with the same results. The majority of your success lies with the managed care coverage, marketing, and speaking engagements from Thoughts Leaders not your "sales ability"!!!!

Seriously, my god, come off of your pathetic little pedistool and get a sense of reality. Do you have any idea what real medical professionals and clinical people think of you, your job, the services you provide and you as people???? Holy S*** how far removed from reality some of you have become after reading these insane posts! You are all simply a just a number. One of many many many worker bees that can easily be replaced within 24 hours. Thanks for the laugh if nothing else.....

hey charlie - clearly you have not Prez Cup on your resume - I know this because if you did - and again - you don't - you would have friends and contacts that appreciate your knowledge and professionalism. Most reps are not liked - and most managers too - but they are not the CREAM of the CROP!
