Intermune

Really? lol
You don't think they will get sold and reps left out to dry? Amazing how brain washed big pharma reps are when management tells them everything is fine.

I look out for myself because nobody else will. Good Luck. Unemployment benefits are only 6 months buddy. You gonna need every day

Many people have money saved, don't have to worry about losing their job and filing for unemployment benefits when the paychecks stop. In fact, many people seek out opportunities like this because of the potential buyout opportunity. Sorry to hear your situation, best of luck and hope things change for the better for you in the future.

Triple reverse psychology attempt here. Still not going to work.... Stop trying to dissuade people from pursuing this opportunity with your false posts.

I sincerely hope things pick up for you in the future. It's obvious your money concerns have affected your attitude. Maybe you have some family that can help you out of your financial woes to get a fresh start. You can always call a credit counselor. And believe it or not, there are people that can go for many years without worrying about filing for unemployment benefits or changing their lifestyle if the paychecks stop. I know it's hard to believe with the situation you are in. Good luck.

Any idea max base? I have 18 years experience. What benefits?

Thanks

Whatever you're making plus 5% unless its over 115K at which they will match your salary. If over 125K then they will come in with lower offer. If you're black, latino then subtract 10% from that number. If over 55yo then forget it you're out. If female with fake cans then add 5%. If female and over 50 then subtract 7%. If female and single then increase chance of getting job by 25%. If you're ugly then subtract 10%. If fat then subtract by 25%. Hope that formula helps.

Standard benefits

Great points. I was contacted a few months ago for internal position in S.F. Never interviewed for a few reasons.
1. BI's drug is going to be really good
2. I had heard, being cheap on equity. Again never IV'd but I do know somebody in company currently.
3. The sales targets are astronomical. Not sure if they think they are selling the 1st bottle of water or a drug. That really scared me off.
4. 100% they are for sale. The risk of being out of work for 6 mos. plus, if company sold, which is a definite possibility in pharma, is not in my risk tolerance right now.

I just thought the risk and lack of financial benefits far outweighed what I currently have. So yes, for me, the grass was not greener on the other side.

Research I did has analysts siding with Intermune big time on which drug is better and with 70,000 patients in US and 20,000 new each year it seems like a big upside. How to hell would you know what the sales targets are you fool....

Being an employee of Intermune I am sure your "research" was unbiased. Stop posting and let the professionals discuss the topic at hand. If we wanted your input we would go to the Intemune press releases. Talk about fools and making an idiot out of yourself....

Bottim line.....great job unless bought out by Actelion, Gilead, UT(very unlikely) or Bayer(strong possibility).

Are there even any sales reps yet? If this is the first drug and a new sales force, why do folks already think someone will purchase Intermune?

I am supposed to interview soon, and think it sounds like a good, fun, opportunity. But I don't want to be naive to the possibility of the company selling. A lot of times if you have a lot of shares, that can be a lucrative position to be in.

Just wanting some good, honest banter regarding this company and the opportunities. Thanks.

I am in the same position. When you google "Intermune takeover" there are dozens of analyst that believe the company is ripe for a buyout. It's also documented that the company was in talks four years ago as well. Both Bayer and Gilead have deep pockets. Gilead has nothing to replace Letairis and Bayer has a new Cardiopulmonary division. I think there's a very good chance that ITMN gets bought out.

Agree. Company will be purchased possibly soon.
Any reps who jump on prior to launch taking a huge risk. Unless they giving 3,000 RSUs and options equal that it's not worth it.

Think about this:

ITMN at 44/share, market cap 4 billion

How many companies with a single agent gets bought out for 8 billion+
Correct. Zero in the history of pharmaceuticals.
So, you can expect any buy out to be north of 44 but less than 70 max

Good luck in your interview but it's not worth the risk. Reps always lose yet reps the ones that create the revenues.

And to be stuck at a big pharma company as those only ones that can afford ITMN. That doesn't excite me.

Analysts will say anything to keep people reading their column - not rocket science to make a whopper prediction that it will be sold.

If you are a drone, stay in your current position.

If you want something new and are willing to work, this is a good opportunity.

Risk is the spice of life!

There is dumb, then there is dumber. Yes if you have absolutely nobody else to support in your life its a great job. Not for faint of heart that's for certain.

Being a drone is having certainty?? bahahaha
Yes willing to work, be unemployed before drug hits market is the spice of life? bahaha gotta love pharma reps. Truly dumber every day

As a rep I would not touch this place unless I was unemployed period. Way too much risk.

Yes, incorporating risk in one's career path is a wise decision however it is the amount of risk one needs to fully analyze before moving forward. Your assessment above about risk is correct but the manner in which you are stating it is significantly flawed. Too much risk here to take at a rep level. Bottom line this company will be bought within 12-18 months post launch...not to mention it will need to be bought to compete with BI's deep resources and very strong relationships in Resp/Cardio that Intermune is just starting to build. Take it to the bank.

Nobody's worried about BI. Both drugs will get used and possibly in combination

You must have a VERY limited background and experience in sales, marketing, and/or business analysis. Google some Harvard business case studies on this subject and them reread your post.

Combo therapy is something a very few small and insignificant analysts suggest. Very limited suggestions on this topic consistently come from the medical community. It will be a stretch to use these drugs in combination therapy. Even if that were the case, which will not happen, both organizations will be fighting for first line use for obvious reasons. There is also the HUGE costs for combo therapy of using both of these drugs. Somewhere in the area of 50K per treatment. You insights are very weak.

I think you have a VERY limited background on the disease of IPF. Yes for shareholders it will be important to win the battle for first line use but these patients will still regress and die. My point is that there will be no "winner or loser" when comparing esbriet and nintedanib. If the medical community decides that Esbriet is the first line option then Nintedanib will get 2nd line. Unless they die on Esbriet, all patients will regress and move on to 2nd line therapy. With a different MOA, eventually it may be decided that upfront combo therapy will be the best option. Given that IPF falls under orphan disease there's a good probability insurances will cover upfront combo use.

Let's stop with the name calling and keep this discussion thread interesting and relevant.
