Thank you - most of us agree
Please don't speak for MOST OF US; that's arrogant as f*ck.

Spot on, but they will turn a blind eye to success to get free stuffI am not white or privileged. As a second generation immigrant, we had nothing but hardship. As a minority, I always support my black brothers and sisters, but I chose to learn from the Asians who thrive in our society. I don't think they get the same opportunities. I can say that my Chinese bros get screwed all the time. But why the Asians are getting ahead? The reason is because they don't freaking complain about everything all day long. I watch and learn how they get ahead. On the other hand, i think my black friends are so misled by their opportunistic black leaders. They exhaust me when they complain. Q is certainly a typical chief of complaints. Honestly I don't she cares about anyone or anything but her own career.
So next weeks “non mandatory” sponsored talk is the KKK - which is exactly as extreme as this speaker was, everyone ok with that?I’m a bit confused over all the backlash regarding the Ta-Nehisi Coates video. I couldn’t watch it due to a conflict but in order to have had watched it, I had to rsvp to receive the link to watch it. Was this meeting mandatory for certain business units within the company? If it was mandatory, then I can understand why people are upset. But if it wasn’t mandatory, I just don’t get it...
I'll gladly raise my hands to give you the smoke. So next weeks “non mandatory” sponsored talk is the KKK - which is exactly as extreme as this speaker was, everyone ok with that?
One race needs learn how to have their hand up instead of always out.

I think this thread reflects the majority opinion of employees thoughts on this lunatic that spewed divisiveness and hate at our National Meeting. He is a fraud and a hypocrite, enjoying millions of so called “white supremacist” dollars. He is a basic race baiter no different than Al Sharpton et el. Q is simply a no talent puppet that thrives on drama and victimology. She should be terminated.
The problem is this was a Genentech sanctioned event at our National Meeting. Employees were encouraged, if not shamed, into listening to this hate monger. Alexander sat silently and did not object to this hateful person lecturing his employees. Genentech and Leadership is now culpable, and several law firms are in fact addressing the issue.
This is a perfect example of what's wrong. If we don't agree with you, you're labeled a kkk member. It's racist, stereo typing, ignorant, divisive, offensive and wrong. When you use this type of language you devalue the actual meaning of the words. As far as the promise keepers reference, please explain to me what's wrong with a faith based organization that encourages men of all colors and races to live a moral God loving lifestyle and respect women and families?
Throw a rock into a pack of dogs..the one that barks the loudest is the...racist
They are getting backlash. Such cowards. They took it down, who has a link or the video?!

I didn't hear the talk, but it sounds like the loudest barking came from the stage.
Listen Gentle Flower, maybe you just proved my point. Are you late for your Promise Keepers (aka KKK) meeting?
Man, as one of the OPs, I feel even worse when reading the next 6 pages. I just don't know how we got here? This is DNA, one of the top companies to work for over the last 10 years. This has got to be one of the most diverse workplaces in the US; I think Forbes includes those numbers every year. It's amazing! I've met so many amazing people from different backgrounds, and we always respectfully connect. You know, like real humans do. Where is the negativity coming from? I believe it comes from people like the speaker last week, who's only single purpose was to incite and divide. (I still can't believe we paid that guy). We are all successful, intelligent adults who can have real convos about difficult issues when needed without calling me a damn White Supremacist. Laugh all you want, but that hurts.... I spent too many years on Active Duty with my "multicultural" team of warriors. Laugh again, but color simply was NOT a thing! If you disagree, go join. Ask a vet. We had a job to do, and we did it. I believe this company needs to do the same, and I respectfully suggest that Q is an antagonist, not a uniter. Finally, I love you all, regardless of what you look like and what your background is. I'm super proud of you for getting to this great company, and I hope you find both joy and satisfaction during your time here. It's really a great place to work. As adults and Americans, we can agree to disagree, and find solutions. Calling people names is not the answer. No doubt I've been guilty of that, I apologize (nothing nasty, just jabroni or jackass..... classics!). Let's come together and discuss and build. Like adults. Hope to meet you all in person someday over a cold beer. Godspeed and I hope your loved ones are well!
Those POC you spent time with weren’t your “friends.” After you served, they had to go back home to society and deal with stuff you saw people on TV marching about last summer because they were sick of it. Having a beer...wtf? That won’t solve systematic racism in the military, corporate America, education, you name it. Policy and action will.
stunned that you would be so presumptuous to declare that fellow soldiers weren't the OP's friends...i'm sure he's quite capable of determining who his friends are.
please take your hateful ideology elsewhere.
