Circassia got rid of all the competent professional reps and hired inexperienced newbies so what do you expect? I can’t wait to see the train wreck Duaklir launch!
It's called lowest common denominator. Everyone will be treated like an inexperienced newbie regardless of tenure. Isn't this something managers should evaluate during field visits?
This whole rehearsal video thing is beyond ridiculous! Maybe you should have inexperienced reps partake in this!!! But I think we can agree that the majority of us find this useless and degrading. We already have field rides w our managers, coaching reports, nsm and poa with tons of roll play isn’t this enough??? Not to mention we make 8 plus calls a day .. getting tons of repetitive practice. Now you want us to waste more field time submitting videos? No way is anyone doing this on their own time... everyone is taking time out of field. This place gets worse everyday.
The industry employs less than half the reps it did in 2 previous decades. Clinical background and credentials are much less important and the job garners much less respect. Will pharma reps be extinct in 10 years? No but the job provides much less satisfaction and prestige. That trend will continue and the caliber of people in the industry will also continue to decline .
I've got news for you...the job has never garnered much respect, unless you're referring to the days when your grandpa carried a bag as a "detail man" in the '50's. If you find the right company with a decent pipeline and products in-demand, you can make pretty good money. The problem lies in the fact that your ceiling in field sales will be about $150-175, unless you're consistently maxing out bonus. That's pretty good scratch when your in your 20's and 30's. You can lead a comfortable life, and maybe luck-out with stock from a start-up. Chances are, you'll reach your 50's and be wondering what you need to do increase your income. For those who can be content living an upper-middle class lifestyle, be home every night by 6pm and spend time with the family, not a bad career. Pharma sales is not hard work- far from it. Also doesn't require an advanced degree. By the way, this describes me, and I'm fine with it. I've got other things going on in my life. I have a 'job' not a 'career'. Sure, sometimes I wish I could afford an expensive car or a second home at the beach, but for the amount of work I do, my paycheck is very generous. I always try to remember that we're on this planet for a short amount of time- try to enjoy life and not get caught up in status or material possessions. You can't take it with you...
i saw an opening posted inichigan. Can anybody give me some feedback on the company and managers?
