Circassia

This whole rehearsal video thing is beyond ridiculous! Maybe you should have inexperienced reps partake in this!!! But I think we can agree that the majority of us find this useless and degrading. We already have field rides w our managers, coaching reports, nsm and poa with tons of roll play isn’t this enough??? Not to mention we make 8 plus calls a day .. getting tons of repetitive practice. Now you want us to waste more field time submitting videos? No way is anyone doing this on their own time... everyone is taking time out of field. This place gets worse everyday.

It's called lowest common denominator. Everyone will be treated like an inexperienced newbie regardless of tenure. Isn't this something managers should evaluate during field visits?

You nailed this directly on the head! If I’m out making calls, am I not actually rehearsing in real life?!?!! Keep this shit to help train the new folks, not reps with more that 10+ years selling. And, just how many “new and exciting” ways are there to sell Tudorza that we need to rehearse it to be graded? Tom and Brian need to go.

ok, I love the playful banter but you folks must realize what is really going on here: The management of Circassia has absolutely NO CLUE what they are doing and is trying to keep the whole deal from imploding. Lots of meaningless activity to justify their existence all the while hoping they might stumble upon the magic formula to keep the company afloat. Payroll for the sales reps has essentially been cut in half but that’s only a short term fix. Stay tuned.....

The industry employs less than half the reps it did in 2 previous decades. Clinical background and credentials are much less important and the job garners much less respect. Will pharma reps be extinct in 10 years? No but the job provides much less satisfaction and prestige. That trend will continue and the caliber of people in the industry will also continue to decline .

I've got news for you...the job has never garnered much respect, unless you're referring to the days when your grandpa carried a bag as a "detail man" in the '50's. If you find the right company with a decent pipeline and products in-demand, you can make pretty good money. The problem lies in the fact that your ceiling in field sales will be about $150-175, unless you're consistently maxing out bonus. That's pretty good scratch when your in your 20's and 30's. You can lead a comfortable life, and maybe luck-out with stock from a start-up. Chances are, you'll reach your 50's and be wondering what you need to do increase your income. For those who can be content living an upper-middle class lifestyle, be home every night by 6pm and spend time with the family, not a bad career. Pharma sales is not hard work- far from it. Also doesn't require an advanced degree. By the way, this describes me, and I'm fine with it. I've got other things going on in my life. I have a 'job' not a 'career'. Sure, sometimes I wish I could afford an expensive car or a second home at the beach, but for the amount of work I do, my paycheck is very generous. I always try to remember that we're on this planet for a short amount of time- try to enjoy life and not get caught up in status or material possessions. You can't take it with you...

Hey idiot.. read the entire post. This company is the worst. They fired more than half their sales force who many were top performers to bring in people with zero experience for half the base pay. They don’t value their employees and have zero clue how to run this company. Oh yeah... now they are auditing calls on their employees who are not true interactions with Physcians and firing those reps! Really great company. Should reps lie about actual face to face interactions or should they be reprimanded when they only enter TWO real calls a day??? Which one do you want? Calls per day or truth?

This company either doesn't have a clue or is lying through its teeth or both. Circassia will preach the importance of the total office call and dealing with the appropriate office personnel who handle managed care but then bust your chops for not having a complete, deeply detailed interaction with the HCP. This is not 90's pharma, yet Circassia doesn't seem to see that the office interaction landscape has changed. They certainly don't have a clue about the COPD landscape and act as if Tudorza is out there unopposed.

It's almost as if some "leaders" in the organization are deriving pleasure from firing reps who are doing the best that they can with what little they have to work with. The NIOX is a great device and Tudorza is a good COPD drug but there are significant challenges to both and management has failed to acknowledge those challenges and continues to scapegoat the sales force. Of course we know this all goes back to the horrible "deal" Circassia made with AZ. Management failed to listen to experienced respiratory reps when Tudorza was first acquired and now the lackluster results are being seen. Unfortunately as in most cases management can't be wrong so it must be the reps.

Time to face facts: this is a non-stated contract gig for AZ. Now that they are auditing calls do you really think AZ is going to continue the relationship with 2 calls per day...regardless of how many office calls? I actually feel bad for the new hires, they’re naive. They joined a company that thinks it’s still Pharma Wars 2004. They may as well have promised a million dollar bonus at meeting because no one, NO ONE will hit it. Circassia will be done in 2019 and the leaders should be exiled for what they’ve done to this great little company.
