Circassia

Forcing people out?? What’s the deal with that? My friend just got hired a month ago!
Reread the post. The reps that aren’t new are getting forced out. We make considerably more than the new hires. Circassia recruited experience and industry-related talent a few years ago. That comes with a price. Then they fumbled every single move along the way with both Niox and Tudorza and couldn’t afford us. Still can’t. All due to incompetent leadership, not field execution.

Simple, the company is looking at individual calls and looking for ways to get rid of the expensive reps on technicalities. Previously the quotas were set so ridiculously high that only a very small percent of reps even reached 100%. If the unattainable quotas continue then performance will be the low hanging fruit in which to fire someone. Circassia stupidly made that clear on the interview farce prior to the November layoffs. I do not wish ill on Circassia, especially the reps, but sadly management made a lot of mistakes and the reps are always the scape goats.

This used to be a medical device/dme company before they “partnered” with AZ. They’ve admitted they have no idea how to set goals so they paid out much lower quota attainment. As mentioned, in any given quarter maybe 5 reps nationally would hit goal. That was to keep people from leaving. Now? They want us out... so pay attention new people, learn all you can from us now because we will be gone soon.

Probably most people figure out the company is a dead end. The salary is around 60k but bonus is a joke because the goals are always set wrong. This job is equal to a contract position .

So I have a question......if this new indication and clinical data is so important to the company to capture market share, why is Circassia hiring inexperienced reps to do the job?

This is happening, and has been happening for awhile now, as pharma companies desire to do more with less. Labor costs are typically the highest costs to a company. Even experienced reps are offered less or their salaries remain stagnant. Yes, there are the lucky few who manage to command higher compensation, but the exceptions prove the rule. As pharma continues to shrink (how many layoffs have we seen this year thus far? Takeda, Shire, DSI, Pfizer, and many others - either having executed the layoffs or announced them), fewer opportunities will be available and hiring companies can easily low-ball when it comes to compensation. There is no shortage of candidates in the pharma candidate pool - too many experienced reps without work still trying to return, and plenty of newbies who believe that Pharma is a good place to be despite it's incredible volatility and job insecurity.

Because this data is so earth shattering and important to HCP's that Tudorza will now sell itself by just dropping off the study at the respective offices.

so those who hate circassia might enjoy

I suspected this shithole of a company would implode. David is a douche bag and that moron they hired from GSK could not manage his own pitiful mastubation.

I accepted a position in September with another company. I never said a word to Circassia, continued to collect my check, they even kept me until i quit at the end of the year. Made up all my calls. They are to cheap to purchase any of the tracking capabilities of Veeva. I made up calls, made maybe 4 actual calls a week where i had a signature for samples. Played those fools for 4 months and finally just quit.

Circassia is a shit company with a washed up group leading the ship. Ive met David and actually sat with him for dinner one evening. He is definitely an odd fellow. Tom simply tries silly shit that failed and GSK and fails here as well. Its all he knows. Wasteland.

However, my new job based at 110 while circassia was 95. Liked collecting the extra pay for a few months. Dont feel guilty one bit. I fucked them before they could fuck me.

I thought we've had something special going on......we've had an intimate dinner together and I took you in like my own brother... and yet you betrayed me and the organization.

Wow!! This thread is very enlightening. I just saw a post for a position where I live. I've never seen a Cafe Pharma board with 99.8% negative comments about a company.

Thanks to all who posted. Thanks for helping me make the decision to stay far away.

Sounds like a miserable company to work for!!
