Best DM's

Worst? Dan Maring. Hands down
here goes:

1) The sheer definition of micro-manager

2) Confrontational on field rides, to the point that it is detrimental to the rep's business

3) Utterly uninspiring and lacking any motivational ability whatsoever

4) Despite having significant prior field time across multiple disease states, never offers up any competitive insights into product positioning or counteracting sales efforts of the competition

5) Inspires distrust in his reps and manages with indirect threats thereby keeping reps in a state of fear

Do we need to go further?

I hate his fucking guts. He shouldn't be in charge of anyone's career. Seriously, it should be illegal to make reps sit in the car all day with such a slimy idiot. Talk about uncomfortable and agonizing. Not to mention how embarassing it is to take him in front of customers. What a poor representation of Novartis!


This is THE STANDARD for Novartis DM's. That's why the company is a mess. They only hire and promote assholes!
 






How did u ever guess?? I feel dumber for having met this person.....sad,sad,sad....still up to same tricks.

Used to work for this man and it is amazing what he could get away with. If asked any question that required he do any research, he would get very nasty and hostile. Wants the title and pay without any work. It is my understanding that if his RD were to do any type of investigation on him , some very interesting info would come to light. But then again that would require some work from his RD. Majority of his remaining people would have lots to say if were assured complete immunity from retaliation.
 






Nobody's seen a bad manager until they've worked with Dan Maring. I wanted to make a joke about him being one of the top managers, but I couldn't risk anyone thinking that I was serious!
 






FRED---------Look at your Pensacola Ciba/Novartis manager. Question his reps. They will tell you everything you need to know to make a very, well informed decision about your region. Even though he thinks he is protected because of his STD, he is openly breaking company policy and procedure daily. We realize the company wants to reduce headcount, but this guy is doing things for his own benefit and he thinks he is fooling you while doing it.

We have all heard about this person. Should have seen him at the DPM. Prays before every meal, then has a beer in hand at every event. Just another example of what this company allows DMs to get away.....false FCRs, slandering reps., not doing ANY work,etc.....
 






I guess "Daddy" doesn't know everything.......and by the way; if you are gonna continue to lie, make sure the person you are talking to doesn't know the truth! You know who you are. Wait a minute; you probably are too blind, loaded, arrogant, etc....to know it is you.
 






Bob Thompson IS the all time best D.M. at Novartis. He retired about 2 years ago because of his new Regional Director(Rich Miacco). This man spent 29 years at Novartis. Been through the battles and had his reps back. The reps had his back because he knew they were the ones who were out in the field selling pills.

Seems like now adays managers at Novartis could care less about their people/tenure and relationships they have built through the years. My experience with a new manager is just plain sad. They watch out for their own backside and don't consider who makes them money. They cow down to their regionals and are "yes" men. Saddening. Back in the day, the district managers were the voice of the reps. Not anymore. Hope some day it will turn back around.

This is the most bizzarre thing I have ever seen!! Is Greg Peters that insecure as a manager that he has to post comments about himself ever chance he gets. I know personally people that have worked for him that do not find him to be a very good manager. Greg get a life...and stay off of the boards it's getting to be so obvious that it is you or your wife on the boards and not your people.

He hasn't done quite enough visible damage yet to get fired. It's political I guess. Apparently it wasn't enough for HR to fly out to Milwaukee and pull us all out of the territory for an entire day to discuss the problems that each and every rep had with Dan's chararcter and integrity. I guess they were looking for something more? He's flying under the radar now until his record clears. Like waiting for a speeding ticket to drop off. In the mean time his poor reps still have to answer to him, skirt around his outlandish direction and play "yes sir". Anyone who's encountered this bastard knows this song and dance! Watch your backs! HR = a weapon for Dan. A weapon to eliminate reps who question his hokey leadership tactics.

He has an entire new team now...8 reps have turned over since he came on board. He hires people who obey, don't think independently. People who wouldn't tend to visit cafepharma. He's creating a very strange team of strange people....just like himself. Questionable hiring taste.
 


















The best has got to be the C/N DM in the panhandle....This person can do anything he/she wants and still basically draws a check cause he/she certainly doesn't do anything to earn them. Unless u count causing reps to run around like chickens with their heads cut off after he/she forgets to give them updates in a timely manner. What's the headcount there now? Anyone? Bueller, Bueller, Bueller......May be enough to have a basketball team with no subs.....
