I didn't get that impression from the call at all. I thought it was just a call to congratulate us. I think the buyout stuff is just rumor.

If there's a "buyout", it's only for the underperforming product. There are no sales, no relationships and not a pipeline. It also may explain the slew of promotions a few months ago. It was protection and those folks will be taken care of. Severance packages and buyouts. The rest of us are SOL

It sounds like you are new to Pharma so yes, if your wife is pregnant and freaking out she might have reason. In the case of a buyout generally the acquiring company brings in their own management and the target company people get laid off. See a recruiter ASAP. This is pretty routine in Pharma and recruiters get it. Good luck.
