$100 million class action suit

Women who are breastfeeding need to pump!

What, like all day? What's wrong with one pump at the end of the day after all meetings and work stuff is complete? How many days are we talking about here? A three day stretch here and there? Sounds like someone is making this sound like more of an issue than it is for $$$$ sake.

Is anyone really surprised??? There was a thread a while back in reference to women at work at DSI and sexual harrassment. It only had 800 comments. So this should not shock anyone here especially in the Northeast. The management in NJ is probably the worst any company can have. When the RSD who lives 3 miles from the office and he stays the night in a hotel, what do you expect?????? Yes, I called and filed a complkaint against him!!!!
Hopefully something will be done and stop this creep.

You obviously don't understand how maintaining supply works. That being said, I never had an issue with my manager when I needed to pump on schedule during meetings or in the field.

I just did an Internet search and all the baby BF websites say you can easily bounce back from skipping a few feedings. Maybe a bit uncomfy for the day but manageable. But hey! Lets put it to the jury and milk the suit for all it's worth!

I am amazed at how many trumped up accusations are listed in the lawsuit. I had to read it more than once because I kept laughing at all the "terrible conditions". I think my favorite was "at a meeting, the RSD came in and said hello to a bunch of reps....and ignored me"

The horror! How much of the $100 million is that worth? $500,000, 1M? Did you ever think about what an RSD goes through at a meeting? chances are they have much more pressing issues back at the office but they now they have to make an appearance. All the reps want to get their face time to try to make an impression. They get pulled in every which direction while they think about the few people they might need to have a real conversation with. As all this is going on in their heads, isn't it quite possible that maybe the RSD didn't see you? have you every walked into a crowed chaotic space full of people and walk past directly in front of the person you are looking for?

Come on people!?! Is this high school or something? The captain of the football team walked right past me and asked Becky Sue to dance instead?

And this is the basis for your lawsuit?

Lmao. I'm glad you did an Internet search about breast feeding. It was so much fun being late to that pumping session on my flight to the POA and leaking through my shirt on the Dallas airport. Not a problem though according to your Internet search.

Ever hear of the family leave act? You can take up to 18 months off and be home to breast feed all you want. You just need to decide what is most important to you. That's not discrimination, it's life.

In reading the suit I see that they are complaining about having to attend dinners in smoky environments and then later they are complaining that other reps are "rewarded" with dinners that they weren't invited to attend?

So you are seeking $100 million because you weren't asked to attend a dinner that you wouldn't want to attend?

While the above example is quite humorous, I feel sad because this frivolous lawsuit cheapens the credibility of people who may have actual real discrimination going on elsewhere. So sad.

There are only two female RDs watch them get promoted quickly and then females would be taking the vacated RD spots

That didn't take long since the suit was filed to promote a female to ABD. How many more females are going to get promoted? If they deserve it, that's great but I'm sure the promotions are happening because of the lawsuit.

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!! This is not about babys, breast feeding, overtime. This is about management and leadership that dropped the ball!!!! This company thinks its the great "boys club". Treat women like crap, undress us with your eyes, touch us, Oops! I meant to touch your arm??? The NJ leadership team needs to be thrown out PERIOD!!!! It's not about money, it"s about treating us with respect and as an equal. The fish stinks from the head down. Everyone knows what I'm talking about, remember Buffalo. Oh so sorry she got canned last month, WOW how strange!!!! Now you know why DG left!!!

I notice in the suit that they complained about not getting recognition for their sales accomplishments even though they won over 20 district awards. Isn't getting the award the recognition? Maybe they should look up the definition of award and then they'll understand.

My favorite part of the suit is where one of the plantiffs tells of being denied a promotion that ended up going to a "lesser qualifed" employee who had no children.

I wonder if you asked the person who got the promotion to list all their qualifications for the positiion....do you think "I have no kids" would make the list?

I love how there a people commenting on breastfeeding that have no idea what they are talking about. Until you've tried to go back to work while nursing a newborn do not comment!

Completely agree. I've worked all over the world and DSI is THE most male chauvinistic company I have worked for. I have never seen so few women in top positions, much less in Senior Management. And the few who did make it and tried to break up the old boys club were pushed away (Natasha Nelson) or let go/demoted 2 weeks ago. In all my years in pharma companies, i had never heard women referred to in such derrogatory and disrespectful terms, even in traditional countries where professional women are few and far between. I am so glad I'm outta there and at a company where women are not only held in high esteem, but are in senior management. Such a shame, DSI had the potential to be a really great company. RIP.

I know both the rep accusing the promoted rep, and the rep that got the job is going to Gold Cup this year and the rep that didn't get the job has very low numbers year after year. The funny thing is, the Rep that got the promotion is the best friend of the rep that is making the accusations. I have worked closely with two of the plaintiffs over the last 4 years and I can guarantee that they are not telling the truth. I do not know any of the others and will not speculate on them or their situations but two of them are absolutely full of it. Every accusation is blown way out of proportion.
