having been a former top producer here and out of the company for a couple of years I can agree with the above poster. Pretty accurate.
In retrospect I made good money ad it was good while it lasted. I switched out of cardiology and the stink did not follow me. I actually wore the vest to my interview and said 'if I can sell this then I can definitely sell your product'
 






call me naïve. I am sick to my stomach already and I am here only a couple of months. I was blatantly lied to (time to ramp up, achievable numbers, support, training). I came from specialty pharma and took a big risk and have been burned. Sink or swim is the training, thank god for a few veterans who are nice enough to help me out. I have never been spoken to as rudely and as unprofessionally as I have consistently experienced here. HOWEVER THE BIGGEST ISSUE I HAVE IS PATIENTS ARE BEING FIT WITHOUT THE INSURANCE COMPANY APPROVING THE DEVICE! THIS IS WRONG! Patients are in the bed and are asked (coerced) into signing " you could die/discharge is dependent on this". With over a 100,000 patients you would think this company would have a better process than "slamming" someone. Great device, filthy company!

Bonus structure was just updated just over a year or so ago so I wouldn't hold your breath for a break on goals or a change in bonus structure. The recruiters and leadership will tell you whatever you want to hear and then will do differently once you are on board.

I was told that they had changed the commission structure and I took the job as I thought that the changes were positive and that things overall had changed for the better. Let me tell you, I was wrong. This is the worst job I have ever had.
 












The issues are not related to the product. Yes it could be better (smaller, less wires, more comfortable, less false alarms, shocks etc.) but the real issue is the corporation. The leadership and culture based on fear, lies and intimidation. It seems that the patient and doctor are secondary to just profit. Call me naïve but I might be able to accept some of this stuff if we were selling salt. I just want to help people not put more stress in their lives. I just feel like I am always swimming upstream. I get more hassles from my company than customers most of the time.

Very accurate statement, but the piece we are forgetting is often times one we don't see...patients getting left with a $1000-$1300 copay after their limited DME coverage is used up!

Doesn't it seem "odd" that we are ADAMANTLY told NOT to address insurance questions?!?! The "talk tracks" we are given are intended to muddy the waters, get patients in the LifeVest, and subsequently put them through the financial ringer!

A ~2% treatment rate in the 40 day Post MI, CMS ICD waiting period...meaning 98% of patients will be left with a massive copay for a device that did NOTHING!!!
 






VT set at 150? Wonder how many of those rhythms would have broke and not turned into fib? Ooops doesn't matter it's a save!!!! We're up to 1.3 % how about we adjust upward like Epstein! How pitiful! This company needs to fight for every tenth of a point in terms of save rates! How about I've been in a territory for 2 years that has never had a save! Cost to the health care system 1.7 million!!!! Oh I forgot to mention that 3 people did die with the vest on. Must represent the 30 percent of sudden death that's not relegated to ventricular arrhythmia's. Has anyone ever mentioned that in training????

Since you haven't had a save in your own territory why don't you print out a save report/use a case study, schedule an appointment with a top doctor, and get his/her commitment to prescribe LifeVest...you know like our quality Senior Leadership suggests (idiots)!?!?
 






Your right!!! I've been doing all the wrong things! I've been going into this with the wrong attitude. I should listen to management! Who cares about the million plus to the health care industry! Maybe it will take 2 or 3 million until I have that save!!!! It's coming ! I can feel it! Until then I'll take your advice and get out those beautiful save reports so the docs can see that it does work!!! Maybe a couple of well thought out opening statements about kids and car seats will do the trick ! Thank god I read this board! I can use all the motivation and help to keep me focused. To hell with money! I love my quota!!! And maybe I'll show I'm a real team player and sell some of those cozy warming blankets for our other division with no pay!!! Who needs money with all the great support I get here at ZOLL!

We're introducing a "better comp. plan" (AKA with our incompetent internal people and a 2 week commission period you will never hit your number). Also, we base our quota off of DRG's and then sell that lie to the field with faulty Medicare data and our trusty AMI calculator - look at the potential!!! "We're only 2% into a $2,000,000,000 market"!!!

Lastly, the stupid F-ing TOZA BS...not only do you get to cram one non-standard of care, costly, and unproven therapy (LifeVest) down HCP's throats, if you chose IVTM you can do it with another! And make sure you enter it all in PPM by the designated date!

I've never worked for a company where I was forced to market other divisions products with no pay! What's good for ZOLL is good for all of us! Bullshit! Where's my stock options?
