I have to say that you need to move RS Medical to the #1 spot for the single worst company to work for. Here's why:

1. There are 325 reps in the company - if you are ranked from 160 to 325 you are making ZERO DOLLARS in commission, and, your job is probably in jeopardy (you do however get your $48K base salary even though you don't make any commission, however, if that keeps up for three months you're out on your ass)

2. Management just completed a third party confidential survey and 75% of the salesforce responded that they are actively looking for another job right now.

3. Because of the survey management decided to throw together a national sales meeting with only 30 days of planning - who does that, honestly!

4. RS Medical bills patients insurance directly, in the last twelve months the company has lost more contracts than it has gained (thus afffecting reps income and performance beyond that of the reps control)

5. RS Medical recently signed one of the worst distribution agreements I've ever seen with DonJoy Ortho to promote and sell their BGS line to orthopedics when most RS Medical reps work with Pain Mgmt and PT's, RS Medical reps can't sell the product to existing DonJoy accounts, and now EMPI carries the same product as a third company distributing the same exact thing.

6. Two other terrible decisions by management were sinking so much money into Bionicare (Medicare coded with no coverage anywhere else AND Bionicare is now bankrupt) and Vertis PNT (not coded, only covered by comp)

7. Reps came to RS Medical to sell the RS-4i Sequential Stimulator (not coded either, billed with a miscellaneous code where only work comp and very few other insurance plans pay for the thing). Now reps are reduced to selling TENS Units in high volume to basically every single provider - Internal Med / to Specialists - that will listen to them.

8. The shear numbers of patient denials for RS Medical products is completely turning offices off to dealing with RS Medical

9. Getting two new products which managment is going to RA RA RA at the national meeting. Someone needs to tell these dopes that EVEN IF A PRODUCT IS CODED - IF YOUR COMPANY IS OUT OF NETWORK WITH AN INSURER THEN IT WILL EITHER GET DENIED OR THE PATIENT WILL SUFFER IN THAT THEY WILL HAVE TO PAY AN ASTRONOMICAL COPAY FOR THEIR OUT OF NETWORK BENEFITS !!!!

10. To make over 100K here you had to be ranked within the top 35 reps last year, yet you work harder than probably 80% of the device reps out there - (Oh, and that is right around 100K, not 120K or 150K either...)

RS MEDICAL is by far the worst!!!!!! Try and top that!!!

OK, I have had the unfortunate privelege of working with 2 of the biggest stinkers.

Cardiodynamics.

Selling 30k boat anchors to docs

Mennen Medical,

Did consulting there, they should be closed by 1/09

Dynasplint. ends there.

Surprised to see INTEGRA mentioned here. Many reps (including myself) there make $150-225k.
It's a very aggressive, un-capped commission plan, and if your good, if you can sell, you can definitely make money. If you can't, I'm sure it's like any other co. for the mediocre reps.

I have to agree with the majority of the posts. IFLOW is the worst company to work for. If you are looking for a job in medical devices and do not look toward IFLOW. If you hear from a recruiter named GWEN PAYNE, just hang up. She is a big liar and she helps IFLOW to obtain their victims. IFLOW's company culture is one of fear and discrimination. They do not know the words-moral and ethical. Their CEO, Don Earhart, is a nutcase and it trickles on down to the lower management. I should have done more research on this company before accepting a position with them. Now it is too late for me. I just hope that anyone that is approached by IFLOW reads this post and decides against working for them. You will not last long if you do.

IF ANYONE EVER GOES TO POWER MEDICAL I WILL PERSONALLY HUNT YOU DOWN AND SLAP SOME SENSE INTO YOU! THEY MAY LAY YOU OFF THE WEEK YOU GET BACK FROM TRAINING!!! IF they don't you won't have any decent products to sell, if you do sell them they can't ship them, if your lucky enough to sell them and they ship then the stapler will misfire and the company will blame the rep and the doc.

HILL-ROM AT HOME - New Management is totally unethical and sleazy. RAH-RAH-RAH- Drink the Kool-aid. Just changed our comp plan so we will probably make 40% less than last year and they keep lying to our faces. Everybody has their resumes out. No confidence in UM because they don't have a clue about our business and continue to lie to us. Watch this division self destruct because of these morons in charge. This used to be the best company to work for but things sure have changed. Way to go JB & KD. You couldn't be doing a worse job if you tried!!!!

Hill-Rom is going down the tubes in homecare. Cutting commissions, no inventory, brainless management. Stay away unless you are desperate. It's really sad when a handful of management spoil the entire division!

Wow, I used to work for Hill-Rom LTC late 90's . At the time best job I had ever had. Unfortunately, relalignment lead to an acute care washout coming over to LTC to shake things up. Yeah he F*cked things up. He was let go 6 months after I left but the damage was done. I had alot of respect for that company. Its a shame to see what's going on. I also know that the posters aren't just bitter people. The word on the street supports thier view. Too Bad!

Hill-Rom is a wonderful company that inherits lousy leadership. Things were different in the past, but too bad there will not be a future as UM is killing the company for all. We all yearn for the good old days once again.

Lets be honest here... some or most of what you read on this board comes from disgruntled current or former employee's. Lets look logically at Integra;

80% turnover of the sales force every three years

80+% turnover of the product/marketing staff in three years

In 2006, 8 out of there top 10 reps. left the company

Pulling a highly lucrative product out of sales force bag, 9mnth after the luanch of the product.

Those are the facts.

No one makes over 175K more than one year in a row, most make less than 100K.

If Integra would just be honest, its not a bad job. Its a perfect second medical device gig that works as a gateway to another company.

Its not the worst medical device company, I would say more middle of the road.

maybe I should get some kind of award, for having a long, successful career all with companies listed on this thread. If any of you losers could sell you wouldn't be on this site bitching.

Empi is the worst. They make you do a ton of referrals on don't pay shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They get sold every other year and change presidents even more. Have fun when blackstone goes public and sells the company again@!

99% accurate...but i wouldn't say it is the worst. great entry level job for a year.. unless you live in PA,MD,MS,AL you can make some good money there

I interviewed wiht pentax also-independent line. the regional sales guy in the south is best buddies with natl sales mgr. other reps told me he didn't sell shit, just was a good buddy of the national mgr. sounds like a lot of headaches there, glad I passed on the gig

Is Pentax still horrible? Did the merger and new technolgy make things any better?
