you don't get it. We simply don't care. You are getting paid good money to do a job and what you have been asked. Employee's job is to finish the task without any question. This is what Japan is asking from our department, "hire employees who just do what they have been asked without excuse or question". Like it or not, this is what we are looking for and this is our culture, that is why we pay top money to employees, otherwise you and all others can leave and find jobs elsewhere.
i guess you are missing a point. This is not a typical American or European Pharma. In a normal environment, HR should act normal BUT this place is abnormal. HR is not here to help identify and grow talent rather to fill the blanks. They have been commissioned to bring folks with minimum requirements, they are out there trying to find folks who "Fit Astellas Culture." Culture is doing the job without objection, opinion and or question. Unfortunately, this is what Astellas wants and for most part this is what they have hired in top management. Usually, talented folks stay in Astellas for about two years and they leave or get pushed out because they challenge the system. Just look around you, look who is running the company, most if not all, are rejects from elsewhere who now are making good money and just execute based on Japan's demand without any objection. Otherwise they would not have jobs. Typical losers.
Well said. This post and the one above clearly explain the dysfuntion that exists here. HR is not a "normal" department in this organization. "Normal" HR departments are objective and put in place programs and policies that support employees and expect higher long-term performance and committment in return. Issues like high turn-over rates are a red-flag for underlying management problems.
This HR team in close partnership with commercial management has created an atmosphere of distrust, continued discrimination and as a department completely lack integrity and morals. Employees in general are treated as minions, unless you are annointed by upper management and then your lack of performance and low competency are excused. Too many examples to list, but this is a deep problem/cancer that isn't going away any time soon![/QUOT
The worst part of all of it is that the sales reps are held so accountable for things outside of our control meanwhile the company turns a blind eye to so many deficiencies within the organization.
