What is Eli Lilly company culture like?

Was there almost 3 years. Was extremely successful in both Diabetes and later Neuro. Hated Neuro! My two partners in Neuro did everything they could to destroy me. My Neuro partners had plenty of information on our DM and she threw me under the bus to shut them up. Left and have been successful ever since. Found out later that the two Neuro partners had done this to several before me and are still doing it to the unsuspecting even today. They almost destroyed my confidence. After leaving I realized I was an excellent rep with my new company just like I was with Lilly. Lilly is a culture of deceitful people. I was selling Zyprexa. I had a Diabetes division background. I knew patients were having blood sugar issues with Zyprexa, but was told to ignore it. What a crooked company. All about making the almighty dollar. The devastating side effects, well that is just how it is.

I had been with Lilly for 10+ years and had good reviews and great performances including being in the top 5 of performers and sometimes #1 on a given product in a business unit. I was getting close to retirement age and wham.....

suddenly, i had no skills and the drs. did not like me - or so said the reviews. This after many years of good to excellent reviews.

After 'seeing the light' i started an age discrimination lawsuit against them which went on for more than 5 years and talked with many people across the US, in other divisions and found i was not alone. This seemed to be sop. They want you to quit... dont quit... Get an attorney that specializes on Human Rights and on contingency - they are available.

Beware, Lilly changes policy and accuses you of violations they have trumped up. No surprise, but, they will go on your computer and change things and eliminate things. The game is intimidation and fear. Make sure you have hard copies of everything.

Can you recommend anyone? Too bad Cafepharma doesn't advertise age discrimination lawyers - they should!

Your own counterparts will throw you under the bus and get away with it. Management believes anything that is said, without looking for the truth when accusations are made from one rep about another. You can say anything about anyone, and work to get them fired.

This is very true. There are even managers who encourage this type of behavior.

Exactly. It's like that all over the company, no matter what position you are in.

Forget research... This company worships Chinese people. (Don't the Chinese already have enough American jobs?) Do we have to do it here... physically in America? I'm discusted with LRL.

It is not so much that the company worships China, management is enthralled with the idea of paying as little as possible for any worker outside of the very upper management. Management's current goals are to get rid of paying for manufacturing in Indiana;look for these jobs to go to either an outside company or be eliminated with other manufacturers producing Lilly products in name only (Dr Reddy?)
