• Make it like cafepharma, but for different industries: over the years we’ve had suggestions for creating a site similar to cafepharma, but for different industries. Now there is a place. Check out CompanyUnderground for company forums in other industries. Don’t see a company? Request it here. Let your friends and family outside the pharma/medical sales space know they now have a safe, anonymous place to talk.

I do not think that all of these posts are immature. I'm sure that if you are legal, or are HR, you have to give some type of rebuttal. I understand why some would be concerned.

The corporate machine is afraid of this site because of its honesty. They know that the smartest employees come here to share what they have learned from close collaboration with people who really know what is going on. When a serious issue impacts everyone, the first place to go for the unvarnished truth is this site.

Sure, there are a few clowns who resort to tasteless jokes and call people dirty names, but you can tell there are some people who really know what they are talking about. I have often learned of contracts ending years before they actually did, for example.

A recent poster enlightened me to the conspiracy to make the numbers look worse for our people. Since PSS controls the numbers and since PSS is in the business of delivering results, it would make perfect sense for them to understate the performance of their own people so as not to make the client "uncomfortable". I can't believe I didn't see that before.

Weeding out reps that aren't well liked by manipulating numbers at the territory level makes perfect sense as well. I can't think of any more efficient way to deal with unlikeable reps. As with every business decision, it is all about popularity.

We agree. Not all posts on Cafepharma are immature. If an applicant chooses to visit Cafepharma to get a feel for what the bottom 10 people (much less that 1/100 of 1 percent) currently or previously employed by the company think, it is certainly worth looking at. That is why when I read restaurant reviews, I always base my decision on the one dude who gave a one star rating to a restaurant because his sushi was undercooked. Works for me.

Giving out names would be hurting people that have told the truth in innocence. There is no way that I will allow these individuals to get sucked back into this negative vortex. They have moved on to better opportunities and don't need to be haunted by anyone from this operation whose seeking to even the score. I'm not completely devoid of intelligence.

Of course, this is complete bullshit.

Nice post.
Brillant.
In my case?

Well, in your case, the cartoons are on, so don't miss them. Saturdays are supposed to be primetime.

And we like our doughnuts from Krispy Kreme and coffee from Starbucks.

It is the recruiter in Atlanta, TS, that created the post you responded to. She lives on this site. She feels she is smarter than everyone and is always on here to see if anything is posted about her or recruiting.

Poster #82 speaks the truth about cooking the sales numbers!
For example, my Zone Director sent out an email about the top reps for the zone and gave their sales numbers and congratulations. I was mentioned as one of the top reps in the zone.
Within a short time, my manager did a ride along and said that I had no gain in sales and in fact had shown a decrease in sales. Obviously, that was BS. I would trust the Zone Director's numbers. Manager wrote 'decrease in sales' on the ride along report. WTF. That's PSS and sales numbers.

If you don't think there's merit here, then why such a long post? You seem overly engaged. Don't you think?...especially when considering you claim everything that's stated here is "bullshit" All I have to say is...

I really don't give a damn what you post here as a response ..."The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

The lady being you regardless of whether you are male or female. That is probably a lot for you to comprehend, so I'll let you think about that. Ok sweetheart?

Hamlet on Cafepharma! "To thine own self be true . . ." resonates more with me. Numbers are not manipulated to single out individuals or to protect the feelings of clients. If I knew otherwise, I would say so. If I did not know, I would say nothing. The problem here is a few people who know nothing say a lot, frequently, and it is coincidentally all negative. Just pointing that out. Sorry you are so unhappy with your employment situation. Go post your two words now. I am sure it gives you some comfort.

What both of you people fail to realize is that numbers are usually generated from the client. How would anyone from PSS know? Rep, manager, regional, or whatever!?!

It seems to me that it's possible, but could be difficult to prove. This does not mean that it does or does not occur. It does look strange that the previous poster keeps insisting that they know it's not going on. I think they are truly defending this place. To each is own I guess.

Or they are just telling the truth. Data comes from outside vendors, not the client. Anyone who has been in the industry for any length of time knows that.

Great! Then it shouldn't bother you so much that all these people that are all the bottom 1%, (except for you of course) post here. If the negativity was so overwhelming and had such an adversarial impact on myself, I would stay far far away. You want to maintain your superiority don't you? I'm just trying to help. You're so very cool and all.

I don't always respond to Cafepharma posts, but when I do, I tell the truth. I doubt you are at the bottom percent of anything. I wonder what you are doing here.

Data comes from outside vendors, but management receives it, many times make adjustments, then send it out to sales force. I can't believe not one person here understands this. Yes, crap happens because the company always wants more performance, revenue, and stress because
of GREED. They know what the real numbers are and where the issues lie. They have their own strategy and agenda for promotions, etc. I'm actually almost surprised corporate would bother even trying to deny this. I've been around forever and have seen this many times. Yes, numbers can and have been manipulated.

Thanks for reminding us.
So glad I left this industry after a year and a half of being fooled. I started in the industry in 2000 and worked my butt off, only to get an $1800 check for 6 months of hard work and being number one for a product launch. Unreal. What a fool I was. Never again.

youngsters, listen and wise up: stay away from big corporations that offer you so much. often, they lie and cheat and don't deliver. work hard, but when you can get away with stuff, do it.

I have over 20 years of work experience, and I can say without a doubt that working for PSS was the WORST experience of my life.

Now, I have worked for some very good companies, so I can tell the good from the bad.

PSS is a last resort.
If you find yourself at PSS, look with all your heart because they are terrible.

Two word comfort!

Hamlet!

Nice post. the armpit of "selling" is pharmaceuticals. Not only are we dealing with weird people from within, but look at some of these doctors.

The doctors were the nerds in college, socially awkward. And now that they have some money, they want to play the part of Mac Daddy or whatever. Such a strange group of people, these doctors.

And why would you think that you know so much more than anyone on this thread?

Every contract is different... Correct? You've worked on the inside for every single contract when considering PSS has represented multiple companies? And you are so very damn sure that no numbers have been changed by the client producing the reports.?.

Man... I have to admit; that's a whole lot of confidence regarding knowing the integrity of the numbers is always maintained without alteration. I think that you may have some sort of God complex. Seriously!
