Verathon???

I left this company when they started shrinking territories ( I was in PP ) and raising quotas. I heard quotas are over 500k now, that is simply laughable.

Now KC, before you start mocking me for saying 500k is too much for PP, how many reps are at plan? If it's less than 50% either you are really bad at hiring, or your quotas are not in line with reality.

The products are old and truthfully only 2 actually work as described, the old bladderscan and the glidescope. everything else is junk. I'm still shocked the FDA still lets you sell the aortascam.

I agree with this, it seems Verathons continues to raise quotas but yet doesn't offer anything new to our clients. Bladderscan is saturated beyond belief and most docs prefer the older equipment as it was more reliable and easier to use. Reimbursements for all Verathon products have taken a dump. I used to get up to $115 for Aortascan but thats now about 40-50 dollars and a lot of insurance companies quit reimbursing for it altogether. Bladderscan reimbursements are less than $20.

At least I have some medical device experience and have been working with a recruiter to leave. Thanks to Verathon for giving me some experience, just wish your quotas and products where much more thought out.

It seems that the trend on these pages is the company is stable but maybe losing market share. Private practice is brought up a lot as being a bad division, how is the hospital side of the company? I am looking at joining Verathon to sell into acute care.

What type of percentages (of gross sales) were some of these top earners at? By some of the numbers posted it looks like between 15-20%. Were percentages different between the capital and disposable goods side?

there is no disposable side at Verathon, it is all capital equipment. You have acute and pp but both sell capital goods.

As a general rule, only 5-6 out of 40+ hit plan in private practice. which means nearly everyone else is making less than 90k

I am currently in the interview process with Verathon. (in WA). I assume that all of the employees work out of this office but are given different territories to work from there, is that correct? I have made about 80K for the past 5 years but am looking for something new. I have not been informed what territory, product or market I will be working in yet if I was offered the job. Can someone give me a low end and high end salary? How about an update on the culture and management of recent months?

Thanks!

Can't speak for inside sales/WA office, as I am an outside rep. Let's just say that territories have been slashed and commission potentials have been significantly reduced. Reorganization just happened, would look elsewhere.

So do you think it would be safe to assume that all of the complaints on this forum about unattainable quotas, no good products to sell, Private Practice complaints are coming from OUTSIDE sales reps?

Tons of changes for the worse happening now. Commission reduced, territories cut, products taken away, quotas unrealistic. Typical stuff that happens when shareholders get greedy. It will be interesting to see how many cut bait after a few months of this bs. They fill us with hot air...new products are coming out. Yet it's all lies no new products. They are hiring more Jacka$$es to run the place, yet won't have much to run once word gets out this is just another $75k a year job. Used to be a great gig with money to be made. Lots of reps are looking to get out.

How do you know if quotas are unrealistic? They haven't been given out yet! This new system is set up for reps to make between $150-200k. The days of ten to fifteen reps with low quotas are over. You might see the reps who were working 20 hours a week and hitting their number leave, but those reps were in the club and were protected by the previous head of sales. Now every territory is on equil ground and you will see who are the good reps and who just had cherry territories in the past. If you want to go out and work hard you will make good money at Verathon which is an entry level device company.

90% Sure this is Keith C out of Central Region. I love the spelling of "equil". I'm sure this new quota setup is designed for reps to make 150k lol. What does it pay at plan? What new products are being launched? Is AortaScam still being sold or have you all been sued already for submitted grossly inaccurate scans?

Maybe there is some good to come of the change, all territories are not the same and therefore should have different requirements. I'm sorry but Illinois should not have the same quota as Louisiana or Alabama. If they haven't change this basic premise then history is bound to repeat itself.

For new reps looking to start working at Verathon, make sure to talk to the previous reps who worked your territory to find out the challenges. A lot of states are no longer reimbursing AortaScam due to the large amount of fraud associated with the ICD's. Everyone already has a bladderscan and you will have very little success selling new ones as they aren't needed (they don't offer anything they can't obtain with an older model).

I declined a third interview because in the middle of the interview process for an inside sales person, they informed me that the salary was 10K less then I was originally told and was advertised. Not sure I want to work for a company like that.
