If you work for Merk then I will concede. However, with Wyeth it is not a specialty position and when Merk expanded a few years back I was contacted for a vaccines position and it was not a promotion back then. Just because it is calling on a specialty "Peds" does not make the job a specialty job. Many companies have positions that call on different specialties but still hire with no industry experience. In todays market I would expect very few hires with no industry experice given the current industry downsizing. That said, calling on a Pediatrician, GI, Cardio, etc. does not make you a specialty rep. Did Merk hire from within when they expanded a few years back? They wanted vaccine experience too thats why they called me.

ped vaccine reps at merck are specialty. obgyn vaccine reps at merck are specialty. primary care vaccine reps at merck at NOT specialty. sound crazy? it is. but, i work there and that is how it is. yes, merck hired from within when they expanded and also external. they didn't mandate vaccine experience because the expansion was so large and there are not that many vaccine experienced reps out there. but everyone who moved from primary care to ped vaccine rep got a promotion and raise.
 


















Attention managers in NY/NJ- be wary of a former Merckie known only as "J" who might be looking to come your way. The translated phrase "buyer beware" does not quite say it all.
 


















Another loser leaving Merck to come to NVD is Anthony Wallace.
He spent a year as a vaccine DM and was awful. He left to do something else at Merck, and now you have him. Good luck to his reps, he is awful. Can't beleive he fooled you guys into hiring him!

the navigation at that ventiv site is so bad that it's actually amusing at this point. sure it has "jobs" but it's for working at ventiv and/or inventiv the parent company.

can someone post the actual link for the novartis positions that are posted at ventiv ?

Can you say micromanaging, clueless, kool aid, drinker? Never had an original thought. He's in his 30s so working up that ladder by managing up well. At Merck he had an uncle that was a senior director also. Probably didn't hurt him, at least he is on his own now.

To the person currently working for Novartis I wish you luck and I do hope you get the job. You ARE qualified and should be considered. I have no vaccine experience and an outsider. I am being considered for a position through Ventiv Health. I wish everyone luck in whoever wants one of these jobs.

YOU ARE RETARDED! they are listed on inventiv but they are just doing the recruiting...you would be a direct hire to novartis, I was contacted.
