For those of you still interested in this vaccine division...think fucking twice! There are a lot of Kool-Aid drinkers asking for seconds if you know what I mean. The ACIP will run from this vaccine...you should too!

I agree. I heard that Vaccine home office is run by a bunch from pharma/Basel who are practicing the Novartis management formula with the launch of menveo. I'm put off from just how they're handling the hiring process so I'm staying with the devil I know -I don't think it would get better being an employee at Novartis, do you? It should be interesting to see how they manage a new FF coming together from all of the key vaccine companies and who probably know more than they do.
For whatever reason Novartis seems to have screwed up and it looks like the promise of Menveo is fraying. It might have had a chance if the infant indication wasn't so delayed, but Menactra has the adolescent market locked up now and Menactra toddler will keep sp on top as a one product solution for all ages (keep 1 product in the fridge). The ACIP will like Menactra better as a 2 dose infant/toddler solution than having a 4 dose infant schedule and most practices will care more about what else is in my bag for them than the reprints that Novartis will have. There's no way to translate that data into any clinical significance to patient protection.
Best of luck if you're still hangin in for an offer. Just remember that there are a Lot of unemployed reps out there to compete with if you don't like it once you get in.
 






Menactra will never get an indication below 9 months so toddler is all SA will have. Data is poor for Menactra in infants. You'll see docs choose Menveo for infants because it's the only one indicated, provides better efficacy AND can be given during their regular infant series at 2,4,6.

Sounds like you've been drinking the Novartis cool aid there. You can't be an sp or GSK rep or you'd know better that with the current mood the ACIP isn't going to want to pay for 4 separate doses at this point. Unfortunately Novartis R&D screwed up with Menveo infant so they'll miss the boat with that indication. They would have had a chance if it could have launched sooner, before Menactra Toddler or MenHibrix, but no chance they'll be much support for VFC funding for a one-off infant vaccine; not enough disease to warrant that kind of public spend and too much sensitivity politically to do so.
In fact, I think Novartis missed the boat with Menveo all together at this point so it's good that their offers didn't go out after all. Did you see quarterly sales reports over the past few weeks? Menactra's sales were down from the same quarter last year, and so were the Tdap boosters and Gardasil so it looks like the adolescent catch up market has peaked and now these products are going to enter a steady state cohort uptake. So Menveo's big launch is looking like it will be kind of anemic.

GSK will come out with MenHibRix this fall for infants which means Menactra toddler is toast as well as Pentacel. Offices will use Pediarix + Menhibrix for the infant visit and there will be no need for Menactra toddler. You'll still only get the adolescent business until Menveo gets approved and then you'll get kicked out. Guess what that means...........Sanofi won't be able to hold an office hostage any longer because you won't be needed! They can use all GSK/Merck for babies and Menveo for adolescents. Wow, just like what you and Merck have done to GSK all these years. Sanofi has no idea how to operate without using heavy handed price threat tactics. ACIP is most interested in an infant indication for meningitis so it will be favored over Menactra's toddler which I'm sure MIGHT only be used in a catchup situation. Good luck to you - you'll need it! If you're in vaccines you should know that ACIP likes to have competitor offerings. It keeps the prices down and alleviates shortages. Sanofi has proven unreliable in supplying hib and let's not even talk about Merck. Keep spinning the story but you'll still end up where you belong. ON THE BOTTOM!

Let's see what Novartis tells the ACIP when they present their immunogenicity data for Menveo to them at next month's meeting in Atlanta.
They'll have to give ACIP an update on the approval status and that will give us the best info on timing for rep hiring AND the best indication from KOLs on whether they think the product is any better than Menactra.
My guess is that ACIP will be underwhelmend with the data. Only clinical experience could prove it is actually better than Menactra anyway and that will take years to show, that is if docs actually buy/use it --what's in it for them from a one product company?

I'm not holding my breath in waiting for the rep offers either. I think the product's going to be "too little too late" to the market now (adolescent catch up is gone, infant indication too far away) and I think one product in my bag will get old fast.

For the first time ever; we will be able to walk into an account and say for sure in BLACK and WHITE, that Menveo is better than menactra. PERIOD! By the way, I can't wait tell we whip your asses. The first fuckn SP rep I see in the field when we launch, I'm gonna laugh in his his fucking face. I am a Nov rep now with pharma and I got this position. So don't listen to the bullshit about not hiring inside the company. This is a fulltime position and I have one. Good luck SP. Hope you have something else to sell cause menactra doesn't stand a chance. Blow me.

Just a FEW people did sneak in and get positions prior to the delay. This is one of these assholes. I know of one hired in IN who was put on "special assignment" and is being kept in the wings waiting for this to happen. If this is his post-- screw him-- this is a precarious place to be with no product approved to date and how high and mighty to be slinging mud at this point.

I would not want to touch this opportunity with a hundred foot pole unless I was needing a job. This Menuvo shit does not look good even if approved. What a one trick poney these people want to work for. To the above poster slinging this shit-- I hope you are stuck on "special assignment" limbo until the cows come home you piece of shit.
