too funny. I'm just looking back at this thread now so many months later to see this brain surgeon above reply to my prior post of "its not personal its just business" (a la Mike Corleone in The Godfather if you need the reference). LOL. I'm not with merck i'm with another vax cmpany. i've done both pharma and vax. there is a difference due to the $$ that is on the line for the md that has to float $ to cover inventory turnover. writing rx's is just that: writing rx's. no biz risk involved at all.

sure, pharma reps can do vaxes, but the point is a pharma rep can't just walk into an office with a promotional message and Rx instructions. you have to know all the codes and biz issues as well.

Go scratch. lol. too funny.

NO IT WON'T DO YOU NOT KNOW ANYTHING!?!? Ask the DM you IVd with read the Novartis webpage THAT SAYS 2010. There are a few delusional people who actually think that they will be hired on in september to do nothing for the rest of the year but "target" docs and maybe sell the flu vax...LOL. Naivity at its best!

The last week of August, Novartis Vaccines is submitting information to FDA which was requested in order to provide approval for Menveo which is now expected to take place in December. Offers will be going out in September with a mid October start date. Training in November. Don't listen to all these knuckle heads on this thread with all their negetive energy and foul mouths. Most likely they are reps who are not being considered for a Novartis Vaccines sales position after interviewing in March and they are extremely bitter. Rightfully so! It's going to be a position worth the wait.

- details? the new division is called "vaccines and diagnostics" or something like that. is Nov getting into devices or is diagnstics just a cute hook ?
- Is a DM going to be riding with me every 3-5 weeks while im trying to do my thing or will there be autonomy ?
- what makes this position unique and worth the wait ?
- any idea what the base $ range is ?.

Who the hell are you the frickin' spelling police? Who the hell cares! Great so these are the kidn of people we'll all be working with...awesome! I SPOKE TO A HIRING MANAGER I speak to him frequently (about once every other week) getting updates, THIS DRUG WILL NOT BE APPROVED UNTIL 2010.

No need to be so defensive just because you're surprised to learn you've been using a simple word that you've never even knew how to spell, nor ever bothered to find out. Typical pharma rep actually: spewing words and medical phrases to create facade of some kind of expertise, even though your own understanding of the words/phrases is actually quite shallow at best (example: naivity. still very funny!).

Obviously not everyong involved in the process knows that (see earlier postings about timelines) otherwise people wouldn't be saying approval in November and December now would they?!

Im sorry, Im a pill rep and I am not going for the vaccine job however, I will say this. You were once a pill rep yourself. Im not sure how this works but I dont think you were born selling vaccines. Stop putting pill reps down because you once were one. You have so many years in vaccines and pills which means you are an old ass rep. One who couldnt do anything but be a rep. Try aspiring to be something more. Stop putting people down. When it all comes down to the end your just another rep like the rest of us. Pill, Vaccine, Oncology or car... you filthy mudblood rep you! I hope no GSK people get any Novartis job. This person above knows what their talking about. I spoke with my DM and he let me know that I would be coming on board by the end of this onth at a level two. There are three levels and depending on experience, you can be 1, 2, or 3. Levels will determine $$. My DM told me that the projected start date is 2nd to 3rd week of Oct. Hang in there folks. This is gonna be a great ride.
 









Is anyone (esp.those leaving from another co.) worried about final fda approval? I know when start dates are for the seperates territories (2 different dates) and approx. approval/launch... but i remember what happened to novartis with galvus. I wonder if there will be any gurantees.? Sure would hate to leave current co. for this to blow up in every one's faces.. just a concern
