Seasonal Contract Position

Same stupid adversity questions with me. Tell me about a time you had a conflict with your manager or with a coworker how did you handle that? I felt like saying I’m having a conflict with you right now. This guy was about is dry and boring as you could get

I asked about the territory geography it’s huge so I told him I didn’t think that was going to work with me I was going to have to bow out and he was shocked. You mean you don’t want this job you don’t want to MoveOn in the process? No thanks. He couldn’t believe it he acted like this was the most high paying job in the world. Are these people zombies or something

I had the same questions presented to me this morning. He explained the territory, HUGE! He repeated the pay plus mileage reimbursements. I too, said thank you, but no thanks. The pay is so low, COBRA would be over $1000 per month! Reimbursement is 21 cents per mile. I think I would be in my car more than in office. The territory majority is no see, budget is super low so theres no way to even have consistent lunches. Good luck guys because I'm OUT.

why are there 5 openings in my state? Territories ar small! I’m confused. What is budget for providing lunches? Is there Internet it cell phone allowances ? Seems many people are out. People can’t work part time job doing this job if territory huge. This job continues changing. I am not taking f2f cuz not good man risk my current job.

It just varies. I had my virtual and the HM wasn’t bone-dry and the territory isn’t huge. Interview went well I think. I was given a timeline of when things should get rolling. Virtual interviews for the next couple of weeks then f2f and narrowing it down from 2/3 candidates to 1. I got positive feedback before we signed off, but no invite to a f2f (I don’t know if they might email with that later?). Hoping for the best.

I'm convinced that they are looking for Unicorns w/ this contract. They are asking the standard Pharma Interview questions but looking for different results. STAR, One Word that describes you, etc. I'm guessing they want the standard Pharma Rep that wants (actually ASH wants someone who dosen't want) a full-time position. But it's Half a year position , but you have to be a Cheerleader, No Vacation, Hair on fire go getter that wants to win awards (There isn't any awards to win folks) and the job is over in 6 months. Instead they should be looking for the semi retired over qualified Rep that still wants to talk to MDs and do a good job. This job is geared for the person who already had a Corp Life, dosen't want another one and just wants to do a good job get the product out there and not have all the BS as typical Pharma but it looks like they are not looking for that.

I wouldn't worry about this contract that much because the first wave of hires are only going to quit as soon as they get the full time job they were actually looking for. Or, Ashfield will be going through the process all over again next year which maybe already factored in.

I agree. They are looking for the wrong people. I think that’s a majority of people that are looking at this job are only looking at it as a hold over until they find something else. There are thousands of drug reps out there out of a job right now and they will take anything to buy them the time so I’m sure next year at this time they’ll have a whole complete new set of people because none of the people they hire now are going to be around

The guy who interviewed me looks like a total trash bag on his facebook page. Not a professional person at all. Maybe he is just out on parole.

Spot on analysis on the type of rep they should be looking for.
