Sally Sussman/Pfizer Lobbyists subject of congressal investigation of Obamacare deal

Re: Sally Sussman/Pfizer Lobbyists subject of congressal investigation of Obamacare d

directly from Pfizer, I guess the ELT is exempt:

Pfizer's procedure that limits Pfizer colleagues' campaign and election activities during working hours also restricts the use of Pfizer resources to support federal and state candidates, political parties and political committees.

Re: Sally Sussman/Pfizer Lobbyists subject of congressal investigation of Obamacare d

Yeah. But nothing has come of it. You'd be naive to thing something would.
Same old stuff. They're untouchable.

Pfizer, Too Big to Fail. Too Big to Nail.

If you do some research you will find out that Pfizer, alledgedly, used the old Pharmacia and Upjohn as Shell Companies to take the heat on Bextra. Of course Pharmacia and Upjohn were defunct but somebody re enlisted them as a ghost corporation or shell corporation in Delaware, to take the heat. Otherwise, Pfizer could have lost the ability to contract to Medicare and many jobs and profits would have gone down the drain.

Be glad you work for such a "slick" company. The army of lawyers stay pretty busy.

"Pfizer's chief compliance officer, Doug Lanker, said that "in a large sales force, successful sales techniques spread quickly," but that top Pfizer executives were not aware of the "significant mis-promotion issue with Bextra" until federal prosecutors began to show them the evidence.

SUCH A LIE!

I am sure that Ian R. has no idea of what Susman is up to either...at least that's what he will claim when it hits the fan...

Of course it's a lie. The strategy all along was to go for Post Op Pain and increase the dose for higher sales. When Lipitor had higher prices for the higher doses, upper management had the same strategy. "Start people on 40mg, was their mantra" and told many of the reps to stop sampling 10mg.

Sally Sussman's activities may be seen as a foreign bribe in other countries. Yet obama goes after Walmart presumably because they support republicans and mexicans. go figure.

Re: Sally Sussman/Pfizer Lobbyists subject of congressal investigation of Obamacare d

looks like she's a lobbyist but a purposefully "Unregistered: Lobbyist

an exert from the NY Times:

Some Washington lobbyists suggest that the Obama administration’s tough public stance against lobbyists has served only to discourage those active in the lobbying industry from registering as lobbyists in the Senate.

“What all this rhetoric does is to drive lobbying even further into the shadows,” said a Democratic lobbyist who works frequently with the administration but spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Re: Sally Sussman/Pfizer Lobbyists subject of congressal investigation of Obamacare d

“Obama will not take money from registered lobbyists like me,” the lobbyist said with some bitterness, “but that doesn’t mean that he won’t take money from people who are lobbying. There’s a big difference.”

from the NY times article

Wait a minute now. I thought Pfixer was not suppose to support or campaign for a single party?

http://www.muckety.com/Sally-Susman/10360.muckety

wow, thanks for sharing...that is a pretty telling graphic of who Susman is and how deep she is involved in lobbying...so how is it she is permitted, even encouraged, by company leadership and the board to get away with all this??

Re: Sally Sussman/Pfizer Lobbyists subject of congressal investigation of Obamacare d

It boggles my mind because this company USE to be so conservative and didn't want attention drawn to it's role in politics. Seems like SS is outdoing herself in showing where her favoritism lies, but it's a direct reflection on this company. In my opinion and others it is totally inappropriate.

Here is some info I found interesting:

I agree it is completely inappropriate, puts the entire company under a shadow of suspicion and reflects poorly on all of us as employees

Re: Sally Sussman/Pfizer Lobbyists subject of congressal investigation of Obamacare d

yeah, pretty bad when Drs. start questioning reps about Pfizer's involvement with ObamaCare.

Company needs to be a bit more transparent about this and make a statement regarding support for Obama.

Really????????? You put no blame on the federal prosecutors and the judge for being complicit in the plea deal scheme??????? It was just a lame assed misdemeanor, too. The feds never follow through on a misdemeanor unless it is for political and/or monetary gain.

To me, it's big government taking billion dollar bribes, or extortion or both, to fund their own internal agendas.

Check out the money trail and tell me if the fines went to the feral government's general revenue fund?????????

So you people think offlabel selling is wrong and illegal? Why????

Your lovely generic manufacturers and Managed Care orgs do it everyday raking in billions of $$$ of profits. This somehow doesn't bother you because the poor schmuck "99%er" patient gets their off label drugs a little cheaper?

Where's the outcry regarding the "harm" to the patient for being forced to buy off-label, untested, un-proven safe for the off label diagnosis generics????

To me, the law is idiotic and prevents original manufacturers from truly profiting and prevents doctors from being educated as to the branded drugs potential to help patients for off-label uses.

There's blame to go around everywhere. Open your eyes, occutards.
