I am telling you blood management looks great on paper but after 1 year trying to sell this concept you realize its all fluff and no filler. Get out now if you want to save your career. Nobody is dying using bovie or constavac, etc...

What is with these companies holding huge margins on products? Salient and Haemonetics make big bucks off these shitty devices.
 






I would not say they are "shitty" devices. What I would say is that 70% margins are outrageous. Especially, when they are not critical and have no real clinical or economic data to back up claims as with the Aquamantys. If they had data and were priced appropriately, they could be of value and compete with existing and new technology but the arrogance of management does not permit that.

THIS. It's a good technology and those who use it do like it but they don't like it for $500. The company has always overpriced their devices. The high cost means that not only is evidence of clinical benefit required to make the sale, but it had better be OVERWHELMING evidence of TREMENDOUS benefit. The device is worth what the majority will pay for it, not what top-level management says it's worth.

The device works. But does it work to the value of $500? No way

There is no overwhelming evidence of tremendous benefit. There is no evidence and the benefit is not tremendous. Fact

I would find it a bit distressing that an AVP is on CP and even more disturbing if he is seemingly threatening someone's job for posting on CP given that all posts are anonymous with no way of identifying anyone. That is the point of a board such as this, is it not?

So, perhaps management should spend their time on more valuable pursuits.

I spent several years with Tissue Link and even one with Salient... I have just read quite a bit of this thread and I am soooo sad!!! Jackie and Nathan were great to work for and I was proud of what I did! Dave Brown and his followers were a big part of the reason I left (not to mention many of my best customers falling off as they realized our clinical team manipulated data to provide false results)... You can only get the clinical team to help if we know we can win the business and justify the 2.5 million we are spending on a team run by an accountant??? Great business model... I was part of the "boy's club" mentioned and still needed to get out. I am sorry for those of you who are still there and have not been able to find an out in this economy. Those of you I worked with, I miss you, wish you the best, and wish I could have done more to support your efforts!!!
