Salient Surgical Technologies

Plasma list price is 350 and they will work down to 250. Equipment will be placed for free without the BS PPU programs. Did they get the business after the compairson was complete. Very interesting.
Are you talking about plasma jet or plasmablade on the price?

As for the comparison, it is actually a study they did. It's on the Plasma Surgical website. Once again, since corp. won't furnish any competitive info we must find it ourselves......

thanks for the info on plasma. another unique energy-delivering device: omni-guide's BeamPath, (licensed by MIT) this device is also very unique -- no real competition for this device, just another option for people who enjoy selling these kind of toys

i'm afraid plasma surgical may be causing some big waves soon. however, $$$$ will be a big factor as usual. will be interesting to watch them slowly gobble up market share but will probably take some time.

Doc's will love it. It will be cheaper. Data shows less tissue necrosis. It cuts, AQM and monopolar does not. They will take huge market share. Couldn't happen to a more deserving company. Salient, that is.

So let's see, no FDA applications we can find for the new devices that are supposed to be coming out.

The new study is well, not helpful. So no Don, we CAN'T lead with it or any other hard data.

We know they will never cut the price. They can't turn a profit on a 70% margin.

New Generator? So What? What's it going to cost the company to upgrade all the existing placements that weren't paid for, many not profitable and then what would we do with them? retrofit them?

And now we'll have this PlasmaJet technology to contend with as well as Plasmablade and all the existing technologies.

Can't wait to see how this all plays out.

one would think that salient is well aware of the plasma potential. combined with other competition, other issues, how and why they keep sucking up $$$ from venture cap is odd. like filling a up an old car that has a leaky, rusting-out gas tank with premium fuel. not worth fixing. time for the scrap yard.

Joe's gotta pay for that building and all his boy's so they can keep telling him how great he is!

What I don't understand is the one's who keep putting the money into the money pit. Do they not take a hard look at the lack of delivery of new products, new market segments, KOl's, etc.?

commission reductions could save the company. or, switch to an independent sales force to eliminate salaries, benefits. or, outsource production to chinese slave labor to reduce mftr costs by half. or, fire everyone and sell all product online or through amway or walmart.

LMAO! I don't think you can make the comp plan any worse. Now Amway, there's an idea.....

So I ask again. Does anybody think they can sell this product and make money? Secondly how many people just hired on and never believed all negative and wish they never made the move?

Pity those who just joined having ignored this boards' advice not to.

Just shows the caliber of people. Not that this board is where one would always go to check out a company but, if they had contacts in the industry that they spoke to, they would have told them to go elsewhere. Still hiring B2B reps, giving them minimal training and putting them in an OR. Brilliant.

An independent sales force is what you need. The posters on here have stated that you are trying to create a market. To do that you need to have strong relationships, which it seems you do not have. If you partner with a device company or a device rep with relationships you will be given the opportunity to fail just because of the relationship. getting the eval will be alot easier. Sales would be much better with 800 sales people working along with the existing reps. Look at haemonetics, their sales were so much better when Zimmer was the distributor. Now they have reps covering 10 plus accounts and you can't cover that much. Based on what i have been reading your management would not be that smart to form those type ofalliances or would mess it up if they did.

Haemonetics is making less money today on the Orthopat than they were with Zimmer. Yes they make more on the bottom line because they cut out the middle man but they actually lost procedures.

If you want a short career in the OR, sell Blood Management devices. You will either never make money or become a job hopper after finding out what a mistake it was to try and sell these type of devices.

Haemonetics and Salient are two of the worst devices jobs you can take. Please do not make the same mistake that many people before you have made. Good luck.
