GSK here! My "me-too" drug is selling more than your "great" Reclast. For the month of September ONLY 3 units were sold in my territory, that does NOT pay the salary of the 3 reps selling it (one unit per rep?!?)

Reclast does what it supposed to do, the sales force is the one that does not!!! Did I hear down size?

Why would they get rid of anyone selling Reclast
There are only 2-3 reps really selling it at the PCP level
and this is where Novartis sees the future
Take away a share of voice and you will see the business go down
If anyone SM1 reps may be gone

What else does Novartis have now....Diovan will be gone in a year or 2 , Tekturkey.
Reclast does have alot more potential especially with new indications that will be coming. It may not be another Diovan but it sure is more interesting to sell. It definitely needs the share of voice esp since there are no samples

Forteo is a great drug for increasing BMD in the spine which is mostly trabecular bone (90%), however at the hip which is 50-50% Cortical and trabecular bone, Forteo falls short. Last Month in the Annals of Internal Medicine, the ACP published their treatment guidelines for Osteoporosis and they looked at 75 studies over the last ten years. They said there was weak evidence that Forteo worked on the hip. Forteo cannot reduce hip fractures and that is why Doctors treat. If you can't keep the patients alive or out of the nursing home with forteo, what is the point of making sure they stand up straight.
 






Forteo falls short with 50% at the hip? How about Reclast with only 25% at the hip?

You are a dumbass. The drug beats everything on the market and once the oncologists, endos and rhem. use the product, the IM docs will follow quickly. This is a great product and will take the others to the cleaners. The only hard part is to get patients to agree to the infusion.
