Reasons why I had to leave Zoll

Zoll fathered you as they will father many other fledgling reps. The appreciation for the industry indoctrination may not be where people may like but I will tell you one thing, whether out of fear or respect, people tremble when a Zoll manager enters a room!!!

Yes this is true. We do Tremble .... We are afraid that when we are talking with a customer, you may make an ass out of yourself, by using one of your spot on car seat or parachute analogies. After the Customer laughs himself to death, we have to go out and convert a non believer into a new customer. This is why we would rather you stay home or remain in the hospital coffee shop. Tremble, tremble!

Thats an interesting point of view, certainly possible. But I have a hard time thinking they are savvy enough to pull this off. This is the same company that:

- Wrongly denied 6 of my 14 orders this week. No joke. Just didn't read the documents.
- Shorted my psrs their allotments. Had to call other tms to get what little they had. Actually caused 2 patients to stay an extra day at the hospital because psrs were sent no systems. Customers pissed. Psrs pissed.
- Sent 2 PSRs to the wrong location. Wouldn't reimburse for their lost time. Seriously?
- Reversed over $12k in revenue, making a deficit I have one week to cover or I lose my commission.
- Sent an incomplete system.
- Sent a patient a $28,000 bill from over a year ago. No phone call. No letter. Just a bill. No need to explain the shitstorm this created.
- Kept me working most nights fixing all these mistakes. But i'm in the doghouse because I can't make their jacked up goal.

So, maybe this is all part of the conspiracy to drive us out. But I just don't think they are smart enough to think all this through. My conclusion is incompetency. Not strategy.

god, this is my week every week.

They have done the same thing to me many times. I've had MOs that were never filled because they thought it was documents being sent in for a previous MO and when the patient went to their appointment the doctor was upset that the patient had never been fit with the LV. Someone never processed the MO. PSRs without systems, patients being left in the hospital because a PSR can't get there or can't get a unit to a PSR happens every day. I think you're right there is pure incompetence in the MO processing and PSRs and systems. However, the negative revenue adjustments or just not paying for the set is another area of the company and I do believe that a big part of this is so that we do not get paid on our sales. Think about what the above poster says about the sales magically appearing after the last person went and the new person doesn't get the credit as they didn't sell it. I'll thinking that it's the Zoll way of keeping profits high and not paying out sales commissions on a majority of the sales.

The fact of the matter is if things don't change they are going to continue to lose good people. Just last week 5tm's quit. Looks like a lot of tenured reps are on their way out too. Conroy, Lewis, Smullens just to name a few. They are tired of not getting a chance for management and having to be a mentor to the region TM's (especially the new ones)why the RM the company hired from the outside figures out what's going on (usually 8-10 months). Otherwise it would be the blind leading the blind. That's why numbers are flat, to much of the blind leading the blind. Wake up JW, BP, BG, and RP

Yes. Well said. That and the daily dose of insanity, inside telling you everything is great when out here everything is on fire. What I would give for them to have to be on call 24 hours a day like we are to fix the problems THEY create. Maybe then they'd understand.

Wow. Now JW is saying he thinks the high turnover in territory managers is the lack of regional managers? Is he serious?

Wow, this misses the mark more than not acknowledging the situation at all. I guess he'll see that when the regionals are in place and nothing changes. The special growth bonus and now this. Not looking good. Too bad.

All this is doing is rewarding the under performing TM's!!! anyone that is making their number won't see much if anything. Just like the growth bonus.. Now all the under budget TM's will stay and ZOLL will lose the performers.. Sure hope JW is smarter than that! But I doubt it.

Yes .. except that today's underperforming TMs are last year's Fast Finish winners who were handed a huge goal hike at the end of the year.

This ranks right up there as one of the stupidest comments on this web site. You've got to be kidding me. Please connect the dots for us. Your completely off the Marck. Do you think anyone outside of 2 years can make their number? Oh sure right circumstances, territory split the stars align. But hardly ever! Additional managers as a reward to underperformers? Are you high?

no joke. unfortunately, this is right in line with typical zoll management. Oh wait, ZOLL management. its ok to send psrs to the wrong locations without compensating them for time loss, ok to send broken equipment or missing parts, ok to reverse erroneous revenue all day long, ok to deny perfectly correct orders, BUT heaven forbid you don't write zoll in all caps. IDIOTS. that's what belongs in all caps.

We do the PIPing around here you bitch ass punk!

Now now calm down. You will be able to find another pharmaceutical DM position someday after you finish destroying what's left of this shit hole. Put on the vest, pop a Xanax and take a long hot bath. Don't worry you'll be drowsy enough not to hear the alarm. Snap crackle pop it'll be time to fill a new RM slot.

Talking about the lowering of qoutas not the hiring of managers. But don't they hire RM well, NOT. even when they promote from within they take a TM that has been here a short time and is lost. Somebody needs to teach upper management how to hire and promote.

no joke. so tired of training new managers who don't have a clue. i don't mind much if they are open to learning. just really tired of them assuming they know more than we do, even when they've been here a fraction of the time. this place just wears you down.

It's to late to speak of teaching managers to hire!!! They have churned and burned to many reps. The word is out. Shit company to work for! The primary function of a manager is HIRING! Coaching comes after! Zoll has decided on a pharmaceutical model for future employees. With this model comes little experience and lack of cardiology background. You would think with this approach to hiring that training would fill the void on the lack of cardiac experience. It does not. In fact it is grossly inadequate. You would think that if ZOLL was going to hire reps with little cardiac experience then managers would be well versed in cardiology in order to coach. They are NOT. Now you have two layers of inexperience. Sales and management. Keep climbing the ladder. Where is the experience? You want to teach managers how to hire???? Lol that ship has sailed long ago!!
