Reasons why I had to leave Zoll

Who told you ZOLL is being shut down by the FDA & on what grounds? We have families so please provide info

Your an idiot. You believe everything you read? And if you have a family why are you working here? It's a stupid response to the stupid manager that keeps posting ridiculous comments like there's a big party going on here and we're make big money etc. I could only hope they would close this dysfunctional shit show. Stop believing everything you read fool.

Your an idiot... Sorry, I meant, YOU'RE an idiot!

In my 2 year tenure at Zoll as a TM:

* my goal was raised 109 times
* I was paid on only 65% of my orders
* Commission reversals affected 72 of 107 goal segments - creating a deficit each segment I had to overcome before my sales counted for commission. This cost me my commission many times.
* My clinical team turned over 3 times - all PSRs run off by being disregarded by management, unpaid for correcting constant errors by Zoll (bad/incomplete equipment, delayed fittings, sent to the wrong location) - forcing me to constantly recruit and train new folks and fill vacancies with my own time
* My weekends were constantly interrupted with uncommissioned and irrelevant work and patient problems that Zoll should have handled, but didn't
* I missed the last 3 family holidays because Zoll couldn't handle patient problems themselves. Why those of us scheduled to be off have to work because those who are scheduled to be on can't handle the volume, I still don't understand.
* MANY of my weekends were shot because Zoll runs a skeleton crew of scheduled staff inside, forcing those of us who are scheduled to be off to cover for the shortage. And when we call in, we are treated like WE are interrupting THEM, when WE are supposed to be off.

And despite the above list, the biggest reason is that I have never been more disregarded as an employee by any other employer in my life. I am so grateful to be gone. I have my life and my sanity back.

I thought the people I worked with at ZOLL were fantastic. The home office people were great. The RM's I worked with were great leaders. The sales people I hired were some of the best people I've ever had the chance to lead. That being said it makes absolutely no sense to me to watch sales people who took brand new territory and made huge commissions generating 1 MO a segment, and then to watch the same sales person begin missing quota and make less money generating 15 MO's a segment! All the while managing 100 times the messes stated above, and still doing great work. To watch rep after rep leave over the years as they grow, and become more valuable to me as a manager and have the organization not care that they are missing quota because they are no longer growing fast enough was too much for me. Not to mention how that impacted me financially. ZOLL treats their field sales horribly. Period. I wish you all the best, and hope ZOLL can get things worked out for all parties involved.

the original thread is very true. here is my story and i'll keep it simple. for 2 years i made good money. hospital quit leasing, managed care wouldn't pay for 75% of the orders, patients kept receiving massive bills, upper management quit working with patients that were uninsured or may have misplaced a part of an original vest,. guys this company is about to implode. middle management is protected and the tm's get hosed.
well after 2 years and growing the business 5 fold, i was put on "The Plan".

anyone interested in this company, i really hope that you do your homework and speak directly to a TM. it could do more damage to your career. don't get sold on the fact that this is a sales job. don't get sold on the fact this will transition you into device sales. this company could care less about your career and longevity. if they did, wouldn't they invest more in you and your 401k, for example.

good luck. the anticipated launch of a competitor is looming and this organization will be left scrambling

Your story is my story. I performed well, survived the goal hikes every 2 weeks. But then they raised my goal almost double at the end of the year, then they split my territory in half and kept the same growth rate expectation with half the hospitals. So obviously I haven't made goal since. And I'm the bad guy?

This place really doesn't care about the sales force or PSRs. They really don't. They are happy to have a revolving door. And more than the shock of their disregard for their team, is the shock of their lack of management skills to see how costly this is to the business.

Can't try to understand or change it anymore. Just looking for a new job every day. The recruiters laugh when I call - they are inundated with LifeVest reps interviewing.

Powerball! If I win I won't even give them the decency to resign. I hate this company and how the treat RM's, TM's, PSR's and Patients!!!!!

Zoll fathered you as they will father many other fledgling reps. The appreciation for the industry indoctrination may not be where people may like but I will tell you one thing, whether out of fear or respect, people tremble when a Zoll manager enters a room!!!

Hate to break it to you but, that "fear you sense" is actually everyone's sudden onset of IBS and fear of laughing so hard they actually sh** themselves. You are like a screendoor on a submarine.

Unfortunately, the constant turn over is not costly to their business as it helps Zoll make money. Once you leave and by some miracle all the orders that you didn't get paid on suddenly happen the get reimbursed. You don't get the sales commission as you just left and the rep that came in to replace you will not get paid on it because they didn't sell those orders. The same thing happens to the new rep and they soon will realize they won't be making money with the constant increase in quota and the large amount of orders that are not being paid by insurance. no insurance payment, no rep commissions. So the new rep finally leaves and another miracle happens that all those orders that they didn't get paid on finally have reimbursement and the insanity continues. Once you realize that Zoll makes money on the turnovers as they are not paying commissions that are owed to you, then you finally understand the financial logic to Zoll around making your life miserable. It's just collateral damage that your career gets ruined.

Thats an interesting point of view, certainly possible. But I have a hard time thinking they are savvy enough to pull this off. This is the same company that:

- Wrongly denied 6 of my 14 orders this week. No joke. Just didn't read the documents.
- Shorted my psrs their allotments. Had to call other tms to get what little they had. Actually caused 2 patients to stay an extra day at the hospital because psrs were sent no systems. Customers pissed. Psrs pissed.
- Sent 2 PSRs to the wrong location. Wouldn't reimburse for their lost time. Seriously?
- Reversed over $12k in revenue, making a deficit I have one week to cover or I lose my commission.
- Sent an incomplete system.
- Sent a patient a $28,000 bill from over a year ago. No phone call. No letter. Just a bill. No need to explain the shitstorm this created.
- Kept me working most nights fixing all these mistakes. But i'm in the doghouse because I can't make their jacked up goal.

So, maybe this is all part of the conspiracy to drive us out. But I just don't think they are smart enough to think all this through. My conclusion is incompetency. Not strategy.

Not to mention the co pays. How many co pays do you see credited on your commission statement??
