Rare Disease/Rett Syndrome

MS is a good disease state to work in. Can still get a higher base salary. But the big dollars is still in oncology or rare disease. And you likely won't be able to tout MS as "rare disease" in an interview- but you never know. I've seen crazier things happen. Big dollars is 200k + base, yearly rsu, 15-20k plan per qtr bonus- all very common. Pays similar to slightly higher than typical manager. Good gig...little work. Good luck!
Correct. Touting MS as a rare disease will get you kicked out of the interview. If necessary 'adjust' your experience on resume to incorporate a real rare disease. You know how to do that, very easy to change a few words. Once on board you should base and bonus at 350k or more ! Best of luck and be aggressive in your resume ! Most here have used this approach with great success.

Hey you A Hole MS is NOT a rare disease!! It is a common malady and does NOT deserve high salary range. You must be a f'ing buffoon to think MS is "rare". Stop posting your BS !!!

I'm at 180k in MS clown... and if .000038% of the population diagnosed yearly with MS isn't considered rare you best stay in primary care where you're lack of knowledge would go well with you're donut drop offs...

Almost 500,000 people in the USA currently has MS. Uncommon yes...but not rare. Maybe you put that you sell for an "uncommon disease state" on your resume. I doubtful you are at 180k base in MS- maybe closer to 160k on the high end. Hey but that is an uncommon base in pharmaceuticals too- so you are better than average.

Didn't get an interview sport?? I did... I also have a MS background (few years back). You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. I'm was at 165k base in MS at Genentech. Went over to a rare disease company for 190k. Just shopping around but know what the difference is between the two?? Nothing. Still identifying patients, working with a HUB and IDN pharmacy. I hope you're not a DM because you come off as a typical big pharma douche' with no idea what this space is..... now run along little Johnny....

There's a lot of BS in your post. DMs can spot it a mile away ! MS is NOT rare disease an you didn't interview. Quit pretending. I

As of yet not one of you dummies has referred to this as a rare orphan disease which it is, which further distinguishes it from rare or uncommon or whatever. But yes a good solid MS rep could flourish here, nothing magic to it so get over yourselves.

NO WAY. MS reps are a dime a dozen. The ones that interview have had poor communication and technical skills. Also questionable / fake resume claims that simply dont compute. Just being a 'Joe Average' MS rep will not work. DM here knows the field.

100% agree. Just started reading this sh!tshow of a thread. If Mr. CAPs is a manager, God help his reps and MS may not be entirely rare disease 15 years ago it was considered close to it. Funny thing too, those reps thought they were special also.... a winning formula for success is the individual not the experience in the rare space. You either know how to work specialty/IDN/complex disease state accounts.....or you don't.

As a DM demand my reps meet their numbers every quarter, or NO bonus. Must demand excellence ! No crap from the slugs will be tolerated. And No BS claims and no fake interviews by job seekers ! Rare Disease Reps are special an don't take your BS post fantasy !

You’re living in the past man! You’re hung up on some clown from the 60’s! From the 60’s man!
This thread has devolved into total BS. The topic was is MS a rear disease or not. We experienced know the answer. But Junior still thinks it is, and so does his mama. Let them live in piece in there alternate universe !
