Anyone know how big the area is that the Regional Reps cover? Is it by city, half a state, multi-state, etc? Is the colorectal cancer screening product any good? How has it been received in the medical community?

I'm willing to whore myself out for awhile to get a job...... hahaha! Seriously, is the product too good to be true? I know it won't be an easy sell, but the concept of the product sounds great. Just wanted to know if it was worth the $$ to the docs???

Thanks.

Most are one - two states. The test is better than what is on the market however most dr's push the patient for a colonoscopy (the gold standard). The bigger hurdle is they do not have a marketing department and no name recognition. Be prepared to be micromanaged ex. you have to bcc the owners on all emails. $$ to the dr's, most dr's will not buy unless it is profitable. Insurance co's reimburse different amounts therefore some states are better than others. Be prepared to lie, throw out your morals and be the hero one hour and zero the next.

Thanks for the input. Sounds like the marketing plan for most small companies with descent products and no budgets, these days.... It's hard to compete with the giant companies that have 100 million dollar budgets for new products...... As an old boss said to me, "I've never known a coffee cup to sell anything!" Best selling advice I've ever been given. If it were that easy, we'd all just hand out some pens and send out a few emails.........

I just wanted to know if the product was as good as what I have read and researched about. Thank you, any other advice is appreciated. Particularly about the North Carolina territory.

Re: POLYMEDCO???? Needs to be exposed to public

It's interesting you would suggest that Polymedco should be exposed to the public especially their customers. I worked for Polymedco at one time and found out about this site from a potential customer. She told me to get the H--l out. I did. How can this be done with minimal risk to the person or persons exposing them?

Not sure who Tom was or what his territory was, but the manager in the east around NY/NJ is history. Imagaine that, a straight shooter canned...

Pete & Jay Welsh have no idea how to keep good, intelligent people.

Is Peter G from still there? What about the reps they brought in last year around this time. One for San Diego, Florida and the woman who covered Minneapolis, parts of Chicago and other rural midwestern parts.

Who cares....here is the future for these people. SD rep - fired, FLO rep - quit (even though they did not have another job), Minn - fired. Or 2nd scenerio fired, fired, fired or 3rd scenerio quit, quit, quit.....do you understand?

Look people, I just got a call from an old Poly friend that my name was here, and couldn't care less. The truth is that I left in 2002 and have been with the same oncology company ever since. I still have a few friends I touch base with, 3 are in oncology like me, and I really don't have a bad thing to say about Pete and the boys. He put me in the postion to get a much better job and gave me a crazy salary that I got my next compnay to match, now it's well into 6 figures. The work was not that hard, dldl, bta stat and the lipids were an easy sell. I liked Paul,Frank, pretty much everyone. Micro-managed, sure, but if it were my cash I would do the same. I hear DD has twins, MF is doing well, SK went the the VanHalen show in Tampa, RC runs an oncology company. Everyone should just chill and tell Arron I said hello.

Look here Kool-Aid Drinker, you're right; the work is not hard at all. Working for them is what everyone on here is referring to. There are many other jobs out there without the hassle of micro-management. Dealing with the son of the owner is no joy either. I still work here and Jay Welsh has his head so far up his dad's asshole he cannot think straight. It's only time before I find another job.

Lastly, if it were 'your cash' and ran the company the same way, you would still have high turnover. Turnover is one of the most costly things Polymedco has to deal with. There hire, train, spend money and then the reps get so pissed at Pete & Jay they split. Come on, do they really need to read and approve every fucking email that we reps send to doctors?

If that were 'your cash', your cash would be wasted on turnover my friend.

Let me be clear. We are not "friends" and I do not give a fuck about what you have to say. I am better than you, smarter than you, and make well into the $200's selling to pathologists. I did not drink the kool-aid, I just did my fucking job. Why don't you grow the fuck up and either go back to work, get a new job, or kiss my ass. Either way, you do not matter in any shape way or form. Too bad your dad did not start a muti-million dollar company to hand over to you. Maybe you can join your dads lawn cutting service, maybe he will let you ride the tractor. Loser.

Poster #123, you must have a small penis. It's no wonder you got along so well with Pete & Jay. I am sure everyone on here is highly impressed you make over $200K. Wow, you must be special. I guess with all that money, you still don't understand the basic theme of these posts: Polymedco SUCKS and anyone working there should go find a real job with real products.

Poster 123:

I'm going to call bullshit. You say you sell oncology to Pathologists.

Oncologists treat cancer, pathologists diagnose cancer, and never the twain shall meet; pathologists send patient reports to oncologists....and that is the only connection the two have. You sell diagnostics to Pathologists and oncology treatments and pharmaceutics to oncologists. You are either very uneducated about your own industry or full of shit. I strongly suspect the latter.

Fuck you very much.

so your are an inpatient in the hospital and they need to run a bone marrow on you. The pathologist does it, keeps the morphology and sends out the flow and cyto to an oncology ref. lab like Genzyme, UsLabs, GenPath, Clarient ect. So..... do I sell oncology testing to pathologists or not. Fuck you. You don't know shit. Go sell some strep tests. Thanks for playing. Tell Sif and Lovinger I said hello, and that Wake and VaTech suck

Stop posting pathology rep. Only one person says "twain" and although the interaction is funny, only one person knows the difference between what oncologists and pathologists do, and that person does not work for Poly. (Not that there is anything wrong with that).

I worked for Polymedco for 2 years. Yeah there was a lot of shit I could say about it but what I think is crazy is this. You take a P.W. a Drew C. and garage and you have these two guys who built a business with products they never even made in the first place. Yeah, if they did things differently I think they would have made a ton more money, but hell who gives a shit after the first couple of million. You think they would have sold it along time ago but then that's the problem, with not actually making the equipment you sell. Your company is only worth the contracts you have with the customers and when those go away say in 5 years well, your done. Who the hell would buy it for more than its annual rev? Probably nobody, but then when your Pete W. or Drew who cares, I wouldn't. I gots MINE! YOU BETTA GETS YO's.

Re: Assessment from a former employee

Polymedco is a very interesting company. I joined Polymedco based on the product line and opportunities. Unfortunately, the company was not the right environment for me. I left voluntarily. I decided that Polymedco is a better fit for people who have little or no sales experience. Pete Welsh, who runs sales, is an interesting man. I believe it is his perogative on how he runs the sales force. He will tell you up front that you will work hard and travel extensively. The do pay well for the efforts, and are very impatient on results. As a sales rep, expect to be micro-managed by Pete. Again, this is Pete's company and new employees need to understand it is his way.
