Commission plan has changed again, cut from 6% to 3%.

You really shouldn't be sharing this kind of information. Besides the commision plan has changed for the better. Polymedco is continually giving it's reps an opportunity to sell more and more and become more and more successful. Would you rather have 6% of $100,000 in sales or 3% of $300,000 dollars in sales. Those who work hard and follow the proven patterns for success will be successful and have the chance to make an income in the six figures. I don't know of any other company where there is so much opportunity if you only will work hard and decicate yourself to the program and process. Those who won't succeed simply will not be willing to put in the required effort.

I'd rather have 6% of $300,000 in sales!!

You are all just bitter because you couldn't cut it and were fired. Obiously you are still unemployeed and have nothing better to do than sit all day and monitor message boards. You couldn't sell then and you can't sell now. It wouldn't matter what commission you were offered. You'd still be making $0, because YOU CAN'T SELL!!!!

Too Funny! I just found this board while searching the web and wondering about that old company Polymedco that I worked for a couple of year a long time ago. It doesn't sound like much has changed. I can't believe the powers that be at the company take the time to monitor these postings and respond. It's been a long time since I've been with the company. Does anyone have any current info on these guys. Any old timers still there? Are they still pushin the same maginal products and using the same tired tactics?

I miss the days of Kemmer, Field, Davis, Myles, Sif, Cardwell, the dude from Minnesota. Food fights, BTA stat, mag HDL. The Mt Kisko disco. It's funny, dont be a hater, just move on.

i remember the Kisko Disko...always fun to get ripped after hours of "technical" training..before going to back to Chicago for hour after hour of stupid role playing..those were the days! anyone remember the first "real" National sales meeting in Orlando and the cool black guy that imitated Pete..it was so funny..course the guy got fired shortly after the meeting....anyone rememeber the stupid donut boxes? magnetic HDL argh? all the chemistries that didnt' work on analyzers? how about sedrate controls ? that was some serious profit

The Mt. Kiskso disco is still rocking (strobe light and all), but the Polymedco sales force is taking the night off. From what I hear Polymedco is down to less than 10 sales reps nationwide, when I was there we had 30+.

I was there from 1997 till 2002. Beat that. Easiest job i ever had, just had to know how to deal with Pete. My numbers were good, made 2 Prez clubs, and had a blast working a couple days a week. I dont miss it, but I dont really regret it either. How is Todd Johnson doing???? Great guy, smart, hard worker. Not a great fit for sure.

TJ worked there for like two months and saw the light.

WOW good for you. You are like 1% of the sales reps who made it past 2 years. Now get back to work, the fries are getting cold.

The turnover rate is 90% if not higher. The average stay is 9-12 months, with the max stay being 2 1/2 to 3 years.

Before I left I had seen 30+ reps pass through in less than two years.

Can anyone tell me what is going on at Polymedco recently. I am an ex-employee, and would like an update on the company that almost ruined my life. Any new news, info, ect... would be appreciated.

I have know some very successful reps that worked at PolyMedCo and left due to being micromanaged. Given the tone and sheer volume of the threads on this site, PolyMedCo management should do some serious soul searching to address what appears to be a Harvard Business School Case on how not to manage/motivate a sales organization.
Even if 10% of what is written here is true that would be a cause for concern!
The most sophomoric comment is "Would you rather have 3% on $300,000 of sales than 6% on $100,000." Nooooooo!!!! Considering that you just wrote 3X's the business that took three times the calls and effort. Hey Einstein 6% on $300,000 is $18,000 verse 3% on $300,000 is $9,000. You tell me which is better? If you still think it $9,000 is better call me! I have a bridge in Brooklyn with your name on it "STUPID"

Polymedco - The Turnaround

The majority of postings on this site are correct, some with a slight exaggeration. Things have not been perfect here; management has had little to no patience for struggling sales representatives, the sales direction has changed constantly and the promise of big paydays ways always just talk and never actually realized.

Polymedco has recently begun to show value in its reps and has vowed to keep and reward their reps. Recognition of the product line is taking place from major institutions and in US publications. Although the big payday is not yet here it is just on the horizon. Things are looking up at Polymedco, let’s hope they stay that way.

Polymedco - What Turnaround?

I am currently a rep. here and I don't know what this last poster has been smoking, but I would like some. It might make working here a little easier. Things have never been worse at Polymedco. Almost all of their sales force has left. They are down from 30 nationwide to only 8 or so, and the rest are looking. Any talk of a turnaround is just talk. This company is slowly destroying itself and as always eating its young. Don't look for a career here. When all the rats are jumping ship, it is not time to climb aboard.

Anyone know how big the area is that the Regional Reps cover? Is it by city, half a state, multi-state, etc? Is the colorectal cancer screening product any good? How has it been received in the medical community?

I'm willing to whore myself out for awhile to get a job...... hahaha! Seriously, is the product too good to be true? I know it won't be an easy sell, but the concept of the product sounds great. Just wanted to know if it was worth the $$ to the docs???

Thanks.

The areas are usullay 1/2 large state or multiple small states, min 2 nights travel per week.

Manual product is established in physician offices as a better test and a money maker for the practice. The hospital market is taking more time and could be anywhere form 3 months - 1 year away from becoming the std test in that market.

Polymedco is not a bad gig for 2-3 years, good luck.
