Wow. I pulled up LinkedIn today and smack dab in the middle of the screen was Polymedco's page, touting
"Our new online ESR Quality Control Peer Review Program." It brought back the fond memories I have of working for this esteemed organization.
The only thing better than their LinkedIn page, with it's two posts, was the Facebook page I remember launching during my time with the company, which featured glowing reviews from "Miles Webber," who you may recall was played by American actor Harold Gould on
The Golden Girls. Just goes to show how far reaching their message is, when prominent TV stars are taking time out of their busy schedules to ensure you are aware of Polymedco's superior products.
Although I am no longer a part of this team, I must say that I have kept in good contact with a few of the people I worked with, I think primarily due to the shared experiences we had enduring the grind that was Polymedco. I still remember fondly their apologies for not being upfront with me when I came in for my interview and had the opportunity to ask them what the place was really like.
I can recall now what would have been appropriate, and what I would say to anyone who asked me the same thing today, and it pretty short and sweet....."RUN!" This is a place of horrors, and if you are considering a job, please ask for the opportunity to sit down and speak to Pete. Get a good feel for who your fearless leader will be.
I remember a girl who I worked with telling me that he asked a bunch of personal questions, like about her parents marriage, you know, because it totally has anything to do with poop tests. He and Jay would also make comments about people's appearance in the office.
I am all for colorectal cancer awareness, I'll say that I was glad to have learned the ins and outs of the disease, and to have been able to give myself a screening, but aside from requiring me to be clever about this short stint on my resume, the only thing I learned in my time at this company was to never, ever work there again.
Feels good to reminisce on the past...love hearing other's stories. Still make it a point to double check the site every 6 months or so...to those that made it out, be proud.
