If we're not special, why do we get paid so much more than most Home Office hacks or "field support personal"?
You have no clue about how much most people make within home office. You do know that field sales is the most often laid off, told when/how to work, told what to say, not trusted to think on their own, incessantly petulant, knows little about their own territories and this industry, etc

Let's face it, If that's how you were treated in the field then you must of been a real Loser, didn't know how to sell and didn't have relationships.

Moron.

Sorry bud, I’m in BD&L. “Let’s face it,” that’s how all of you are treated. You’re not salespeople, you’re walking advertisements with no transferable skills.

Glad you think that. But at the end of the day I'm just over 170k base as a rep...pretty much guaranteed 42k in bonus and haven't paid for gas or insurance on a car in years. Who is winning? Not you. And my skills are easily transferred to another pharma company where I'll get a raise or to medical device sales where I'll have to work more hours.

Be humble clown. You get paid a lot for doing a part time job.

Thanks for sharing. I’m above a 1/4 million just by rolling out of the bed. That does not include bonus and equity. Plus, I’ve gotten numerous raises in 2022. You aren’t making real money, but it’s cute that you believe you are. Also, I’m guessing that you’re probably 5-10 years my senior. That’s how it works when you get 3% yearly and have to switch companies for a significant pay increase.

Your skills are transferable, but there are not a lot of companies searching for people that have “efficient at checking lunch calendar for open appointments” on their resume. I can take my top 10 mba and go wherever I would like. That’s the difference between real career growth and a rep job. Let us know when you want to progress in your career. We’ll teach you lifecycle management. See if you can get started on modeling with Training the Street.

It’s really nice to see how Novartis employees support each other. Disgusting

Really stupid. Field versus home office. Come on people. Grow up. Having never worked in home office only the field, from my perspective, the current field (sales) role is rather lame. Most of the issues caused by Novartis. The field structure, CV anyway, is horrible. Novartis CIA agreements have handcuffed the field so much, we are basically a walking advertisement. Don’t say this, can’t have a live dinner program. Don’t email virtual program emails unless the office has expressed interest. We literally can’t do anything compliantly other than parrot the talking points given to us. That forces the field into uncomfortable situations when trying to provide any value to the accounts. In the interest of public relations, the title “sales rep” should have been retired years ago. People don’t like the thought their Dr. Is being sold or somehow benefit from writing a certain drug. Not to mention Novartis data is suspect. Switching from market share to volume for Entresto. Stating the baselines were wrong for T3 and are being relooked at. Really? Are you going to redo the clusters for T3 then also? I’m sure not. Leqvio sales tracking. Can’t even. Most true sales positions, you can see how your doing consistently. Also, true sales, your bonus usually accounts for a much larger share of your total compensation than your salary. Not the case in pharma. Good Lord, they even tell us who to call on and how many times to see them. Comical.

1) You sure are a pretentious mother-fucker, and that doesn't even seem to be your worst trait, since you are an unrepentant liar as well.

2) Multiple raises so far in 2022? A year where the organization is letting 8,000 people go, the stock prices are down and the product the company spent $9.5B on is already an unqualified failure? Sure thing Ace . . .

3) You can take your "top-ten M.B.A. (I'll correct your grammar errors free of charge)" and go anywhere, yet you stay with an organization that is in a complete death-spiral. How magnanimous of you to stick around and right the ship . . .

4) Lifecycle management? You really think that understanding patent-life and spacing molecule development requires an advanced-degree? That is known as over-compensation . . . a community college dropout could figure that out after 30 minutes of training.

5) Why don't you put your "top-ten M.B.A." to good use and conduct a seminar on overpaying when purchasing a company. You think they paid market-value for the Medicines Company? If you do you are the only one clinging to that insane opinion.

6) Last one - why is it that you home-office types keep showing up in the reps' cars? Is it so you can bring your framed copy of your "top ten M.B.A." and force us to listen to you pat yourself on the back? Is it because you think you can do our jobs better?
Here's a thought - stick to hanging out in your office and surfing the Linkedin want-ads. You are as valueless as you are ignorant.

Humble? haha and fine if its a part time job. Even more "winning" for those in the field. WTF would I be humble I have a job that pays over 200k a year with awesome benefits and only work "part time" according to you. You are jealous and you should be.
