Nsm

So do you think GRED would settle on a mediocre molecule? If we only came up with me-too products, you'd be ok with it? That's not being a visionary. That's not fulfilling unmet needs. We can't just say "hey, I get a paycheck, I'm good".
You sir, are not forward thinking.
May I suggest some developmental courses that will improve your negative attitude? We don't settle for mediocrity around here. Go big or go home.

What has gRED done lately? They are just as bloated and nepotistic as commercial.

If we are laid off on Mar15th, do we still get to go to the NSM
i heard that we would go so that Genentech could show their appreciation for our service. I’m not sure about Nsm 2019. Heard that one is still be being considered. Don’t you just love this company. Aleays doing what right for their employees. Love me some gene!

You are an idiot! There is no way in hell they will invite you to the NSM in 2019 if you are laid
off! You are in for a rude awakening in the real world! This has to be a sarcastic post.

Who would want to go to NSM.....Mandalay Bay, the "new" GNE, biosimilars looming, chaotic corporate leadership? Bob and Herb's baby grew up and left the building.

Couldn't agree more. Surprised 20/20 or 60 Minutes hasn't had undercover cameras capturing the waste of $ that is NSM - Club DNA, Thursday "free day" and "the concert". I can only imagine what accounting must see for total bar bills submitted by CS's, DM's, RBD's, NSD's and marketing when they think liquor costs were already factored into the week. There are not many outside of our company that are "jealous" of this extravagance.

For the troll's information, NSM was originally intended to take the place of other company's President's Clubs and awards trips. The idea was to celebrate everyone's success, not just a few. Then Big Pharma arrived and turned it into a work meeting but still kept the much appreciated free day, band night and 5 star experience, (well, not Mandalay Bay). Now it's been overtaken by people who would have never been hired at GNE way back when. Big Pharma moved in and the sharp people moved out. Nothing lasts forever but it was a good gig in its day.

Hubris is a dangerous thing to show off friend. Don’t believe your own myths of greatness of years past. The little frat and sorority got broken up once the company was listed and saved by a deep pocketed investor.

Those who live for the past are doomed to never realize those days of old again. It doesn't happen in this industry, nor really any other one. Let's put NSM out of it's misery and start over, the time has come.

NSM is one of the things that makes Genentech special. I believe we should celebrate everyone’s success. Those of us that have been around for awhile in this industry know “Presidents Club” type awards are a total joke. You really have reporting that uses projections to determine how much you actually sold. Case in point is numerous repeat winners consecutively. I know, I was one of those people. I won 4 years in a row at another company. I always found it amusing how some of my fellow winners became even more egotistic and selfish over the award that they believe actually affirmed their superior talent. At Genentech we have the best of the best. NSM is a meeting just like other companies in other industries have that celebrate. Their is absolutely nothing wrong treating our people to a nice meeting. Screw the outsiders that make judgements that we are bad people because we are successful. Our company saves lives and we have a hand in that. We deserve a nice R&R type meeting for 5 days a year.

Exactly!!

Exactly!!

Elitist comment all the way. What it was intended to be and what it is now are very different having been at it for 10 years. Change needs to happen at all levels, starting with gutting marketing, overhaul leadership, optimize sales, cull out dead wood in reimbursement, TLL and "program managers" and lastly, deep six nsm the way it was. BA was brought in to do this after Ian steered us into this quagmire.

And maybe you should find something new, too.

Karma is a bitch! When it is not your franchise, you look down on people and tell them "you are not GNE material...". Wake up and smell the change in the pharmaceutical environment.

For those who survive this week, please have a moment of silence to reflect on those who were displaced. It's time to end the old Genentech ways once and for all, make this the last NSM in Vegas, the best days are in the past here.
