Nominations for worst manager at Novartis

My manager has no life outside work. I think he genuinely thinks ride days are a social outing. The chance to interact with people so he can show off what a good “sales” person he is. The customers have referred to him as “that guy” you bring in here. He brings no value. Makes everyone uncomfortable and then I have to go back a week later apologizing to offices for his aggressive sales tactics. When he’s with me I make a fraction of the calls because we spend so much time pre call planning and role playing for offices I’ve been calling on for several years just so this self serving Jack ass can feel like he’s coaching me. It’s the biggest sham going to pay these managers salaries for the little they really do. However, the same can be said for reps too lol. We reps are glorified caterers and fedex people but managers are glorified babysitters. The whole industry is a joke. *sighs while collecting next oaycheck*

My docs think my ABL is my partner. Novartis is too stupid too stupid all the field rides. Why do the ABS program if you really don't want to be on the customers agenda.
I had one ask me if I was in trouble or something. He knew I’ve been a rep for over 20 years and wanted to know why my manager rides with me “every day.” Of course he doesn’t, but it’s so much it seems that way to my 45 targets I can see.
 




ABLs are a fraud and steal their pay checks from the company. They bring zero value to anyone. Well I guess they are needed to approve expensive reports and forward useless emails. Go figure!

Agree!!the amount of money the company could save by getting rid of half of them and then doubling their reps… it’s time to get w the times! If you really care about Account based selling- you all would recognize that you are a nuisance and bring zero value in the field. The accounts don’t want you in their offices- we have to beg for us to allow them in or go back in the day after you are w us and apologize

I agree completely with the manager pushback, as the industry outgrew that role at least a decade ago. You could hire an H.R. part-timer to send out calender invites and approve expense reports. I'm not sure why nobody does anything about it, as it is clear as day to everyone at this point.

That said, doubling the number of reps is even more insane. What would they do when they got here? Do you really want a second Leqvio-lead team? Entresto will be generic a year from today, so why would you want more reps selling it?
