More Work Than People

You said it - the manager makes or breaks this job. Too bad GNE is filling the rolls with losers from other companies who were glad to see them go. Background checks? Naah.

You've got that right. I'll be giving my notice by the end of the week. This place is the worst I've ever seen. I'm mostly leaving due to my manager. Never ever have I worked for a more horrible person. She should be kicked out of here but never will be as she's GNE untouchable. So sad.

Not only do the sociopath managers need to be fired but also the RSDs who protect them. Such a shame. I'm leaving too because of a terrible manager - worst I've ever worked with. Where is HR???

Does she make you lie about success story's?

Report her to the Swiss version of the ethics hot line and she is done. The Swiss love to fire American management for cause.

Just returned from a national meeting with my new company. How refreshing compared to trying-too-hard GNE. No phony best practices, undeserved awards and absolutely NO freakshow journey lines!!!! Yes, there is life after GNE and it is good.

Good for you! Yeah its so phony here at Genentech. Phony best practices, phony "show value" nonsense, etc. Managers trying to separate themselves from the pack by creating wasteful nonsense initiatives that only help themselves, not their team or customers. All a big colossal waste of time

Yes, but the senior leadership dolts eat that stuff up. It is the only way to get noticed and save your job.

Made me think of a new tag line.. phony dog and pony. You’re welcome.

Just believe everything on their fake resumes and don't ask any questions. Years ago the hiring RSDs/DMs would actually check references - and not the ones the candidates provided! They called their own network of contacts. No reason that can't still happen and it would certainly end-run the professional sociopaths who can't wait to get in and ruin yet another team. A real shame.

Well, One BioOncology is here and MCCO is scrambling to get their name in lights. RGMs can be valuable if they choose to be, ours is not. They are better than us. BAM roles? don't even get me started.....Never knew what they did other than stroke the mentalities of the C Suite people(at least I think so, as we never knew).
In my mind its about the customer and the patient. If you keep that perspective you own it. YOU are in front of the customer its YOUR reputation. Yes BOLD was shitty, however, these consultants are making big bucks telling GenentechRoche,....whatever, it's share of voice that drive sales....LOL People who have been here a few years knows they should have never hired soooo many reps. WE DID it ALL. Im fortunate to be here I guess, I know where the door is, but I want to see what happens here. I love this company regardless of its faults. Many displaced people are having a hard time adjusting and some are fine. Its how you see it, right? Glass half full or half empty. I will say your immediate manager makes a difference. I have had the lucky draw over a couple of years. Talk to a BMS rep, or a Merck rep..... there are many jobs out there, if you aren't happy.
Yes you got that right....Too many mgrs, BAMs, and RGMs, with their OWN agendas, with what makes them look great. But guess what our GPMs are designed to reflect that behavior. HR we need to reevaluate our performance measurements and stop this calibration nonsense. Can we please get back to working as a team for the Overall good of the company?

Bob and Herb would cry.

I think Herb was a little out of sorts last year at NSM when he was on stage. Bill A doesn't fill the shoes of the old guard and putting SVO on stage as a prop was just worthless.
I left last year and have no regrets what so ever for leaving a completely inept manager, an inept FRM, a self absorbed and untrustworthy FPM, an RPM who I wouldn't trust with my worst enemy when it comes to sharing "candid" feedback and a regional who is nice to your face but talks shit about you behind your back. Such an inspiring culture of deception and horrid leadership.

Absolutely - couldn't have recapped it better! Yes, Herb was not buying the patronizing behavior and the new people in the audience, (big pharma drones), were bored or even resentful that they had to listen to a LEGEND. I knew then it was over and I'm so happy with my new company. The fake GNE culture is all that's left along with too many sociopathic liars in management. A real shame.
