More Work Than People

It was someone from the US BioOncology Senior Leadership Team. They are the same people who made up the Transition Team; Senior Leadership and the Franchise Heads. Most likely they were all in a meeting together and coined the phrase (lie). But ultimately it rests upon the shoulders of the BioOncology CEO at the time. Not sure if that was Troy Cox or Christie Oliger. "More jobs than people" started at the end of 2016 I believe. Maybe at the BioOncology Meeting in Chicago? They said it a lot from the stage and ingrained the phrase by January 2017 at NSM.

Komodo dragon Oliger?

So sad. This company used to be the envy of the industry then slowly but surely started hiring big pharma, (Lilly, Pfizer, Merck), into management positions and that was the beginning of the end. People hired today would NEVER have been considered a few years ago. It's over but was a good ride - not to be repeated. Thanks, Herb, Bob & Art!!!

Big pharma mentality and metrics have destroyed everything that was good with Genentech. Once a few big pharma leaders started to infiltrate Genentech management, they started letting their other big pharma friends inside. It starts a tsunami of big pharma infiltration and the company culture begins to erode. Big pharma is a cancer to this once great organization and Genentech doesn’t have a treatment for cure. Eerily ironic, wouldn’t you say? Expect similarities of the Roman Empire. Why do you think so many leaders have left this organization? They had the inside info on the runaway train coming down the tracks. You might want to get out of the way.

Hey Rocket, Genentech is part of the Roche Group. One of the largest pharmaceuticals/diagnostic/testing companies in the world. You can make the argument the awesome Ivy league leadership in SF got you into this mess...

Please do not forget the starbucks for my team today.

Save your money. you may be able to purchase your audi and use it for UBER of Lyft.

Good luck.

Typical remark of someone who doesn't get it. Precisely what the above posts were referencing.

I used to work in the FRM org and there was so much BS! I mean managers creating projects for the sake of the project and their career. The Area Managers just wanted to get on the radar of "look at me!!" ,Im creating "Value". Lets create a sub team have wasteful conference calls every week on nothing, produce a summary email on our findings, next steps, and make sure to copy all people above us in the hierarchy so I can brag about a fictional market or team issue. Its all BS that gets in the way of the real work that needs to be done. All for show! Managers are useless and need to create fictional problems to make themselves seem relevant and important. All a big joke!

Wake up! Look at the changes in the industry all around you.

I hope you enjoyed the party while it lasted. Your friend simple

Do you even know when a business quarter starts or ends? Starbucks does.

What's important is to put a name and a face on the scum upper management that is driving this unethical behavior. At what level of management do we think this is coming from? What are the top 3 names we suspect started this?. What can we do to stop it? This is our company not theirs, we have the talent, the power, and the reach, they don't. We can take this company back if we stand up and report them.

This is such an ego driven organization. I've never seen anything like it. The phoniness around, "it's all about the customer" is such a joke. There are so many internal politics to keep track of and to make sure you are shining in the eyes of the internal stakeholders. So much backstabbing goes and many can't even see it.

Well, One BioOncology is here and MCCO is scrambling to get their name in lights. RGMs can be valuable if they choose to be, ours is not. They are better than us. BAM roles? don't even get me started.....Never knew what they did other than stroke the mentalities of the C Suite people(at least I think so, as we never knew).
In my mind its about the customer and the patient. If you keep that perspective you own it. YOU are in front of the customer its YOUR reputation. Yes BOLD was shitty, however, these consultants are making big bucks telling GenentechRoche,....whatever, it's share of voice that drive sales....LOL People who have been here a few years knows they should have never hired soooo many reps. WE DID it ALL. Im fortunate to be here I guess, I know where the door is, but I want to see what happens here. I love this company regardless of its faults. Many displaced people are having a hard time adjusting and some are fine. Its how you see it, right? Glass half full or half empty. I will say your immediate manager makes a difference. I have had the lucky draw over a couple of years. Talk to a BMS rep, or a Merck rep..... there are many jobs out there, if you aren't happy.

You said it - the manager makes or breaks this job. Too bad GNE is filling the rolls with losers from other companies who were glad to see them go. Background checks? Naah.
