Intermune

There is a stench of Affymax in the air.

ABSOLUTELY. TV brought some of his old Affymax buddies in as managers and they hired more old Affymax reps. Those interviewing against them had no chances of getting hired.

The Dallas interviews were odd at best. No, you will only have one another interview today followed by yes you will, then later no, that is all you can go home??? Huh?

Not a big loss especially considering Dan Welch's history is building up companies then selling them (Triangle sold to Gilead after he built it up). Life goes on but I do feel bad for those jerked around in Dallas that really did need or really wanted the job. As for which drug is better, it all depends on what and who you read but 3 pills tid is a huge negative is BI's drug is bid (not sure how many pills though).

I've said it for 3 months now. You are completely off your rocker to accept a job here unless you need one or are about to get fired/laid off. If you are in a decent place this move is way too risky considering what they are providing in return IMO.

Yes I did interview and make the cut. No I am not a disgruntled candidate who did not get a call back.

If you really did , then you missed the boat. You would have been signing 25 K as signing bonus and have been written guaranteed of one full year of pay in case the company bought out.

And yes it as true as it could be . So just go and kick your self or better ask some one to kick you.

Complete horseshit as I know many that got an offer.

You all have completely lost your sense of reality if you take a job here. Do you REALLY think a buyout will not happen?

Europe’s Biggest Drugmakers Said to Bid for InterMune

Some of Europe’s biggest drugmakers, including Sanofi and Roche Holding AG (ROG), are among bidders for U.S. biotechnology company InterMune Inc. (ITMN), people with knowledge of the matter said.

Also bidding for Brisbane, California-based InterMune are GlaxoSmithKline Plc (GSK) and Actelion Ltd. (ATLN), said the people, asking not to be identified because the process is private. Sanofi has so far shown the most interest in a deal, one person said.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) and Centerview Partners LLC are helping InterMune sort through bids for the business, the people said. InterMune rose 14 percent to $52.06 yesterday in New York, giving the company a market value of $5.62 billion.

Large drugmakers are targeting biotechnology companies as they seek to build up their drug pipelines. About $6.2 billion of such deals have been struck this year, data compiled by Bloomberg show, nearly twice the value for all of 2013. Merck & Co. agreed to buy Idenix Pharmaceuticals Inc. for about $3.58 billion in June, adding the drugmaker’s hepatitis C treatments to its portfolio.

Representatives for InterMune, Sanofi (SAN), Actelion, Roche, GlaxoSmithKline, and Goldman Sachs declined to comment. Representatives for Centerview couldn’t be reached.

If it's bought out and we are not retained, we receive a year's pay plus the stock.... No downside in my opinion!

All of these negative posts are from people who did not get hired. Intermune did the right thing last week in a big way and its a sign that those of us who got the job offers are going to a great culture to sell a product that will amke a difference to patients. There is no true job "security" anywhere anymore so this is a risk but the risk was mitigated by Intermune.

Thank you Intermune leadership !!!

To all of the haters and negative posters ..... get over it. We are moving on and are happy !

I wish I was a part of this. Intermune is offering a ridiculous package.

I am one of the "negative" posters and chose not to interview here. Why can't you accept the fact this position is not right for everyone and yes it is a bad decision for some of us who are in very good positions NOT to interview and accept the job?

Of course there is no true job security however you purposely fail to mention job security so not so black or white. There are many different levels of job security you purposely do not mention. Intermune is a very low level of job security while my current job has a very high level of job security. If you are in a low level position of job security then going here is really no big deal since you will most likely lose your job for whatever reason at your current place of employment.

It's funny to see how people like you are so easily swayed with a few simple "treats" and really have no clue how you are being used. There is one born every minute.

Move on!! Everyone being negative is simply trying to make themselves feel better about not getting/ not taking the job. You made a mistake... We will make lots of $$$!! Sucks to be you!
