Intermune

Unprofessional. So unprofessional.

Agree. The firm they hired to do the sales force hires was absolutely the worst I've worked with. The recruiter I had was constantly out of town, and the person she said to contact in her absence wouldn't return calls. They gave us prep info like we were just out of college. It was embarrassing.

The firm that worked the hiring last time did the management hires, but this time they farmed the reps out to a company that normally hires contract reps. (Although some of the medical educators are being hired on a contract basis.) Still- no excuse. People were left waiting around for hours only to be released or told they had run out of time for second round interviews and sent home. Not handled we'll at all.

Intermune is starting out by using a second or third rate recruiting firm to bring in talent, that does not seem like a smart way to run things. I was one of the candidates asked to wait around for another interview, then was told they also wanted to talk to someone else the next day. Why not have me interview anyway since I'm here, then interview the next gury? I'm not sure where the decision was made to run things like that, but it tured me off in a bad way. What kind of person is going to be treated like that and still want the job, a desparate one!
What else are they going to farm out in poor fashion, managed care/rembursement, nurse educators, physician speaker programs? Every small company makes mistakes in certain areas and learns from them, but ITMN has one product, with a competitor coming out about the same time. Do they have the resources to make big mistakes and survive as a stand alone company?

I agree that this process has not been very good in a lot of respects and inVentiv could be much more professional. However, they are hiring for like 82 territories. Not sure how the F2F interviews could have been streamlined much better. They are trying to find the best person for the territory and have to interview everyone. Unfortunately, people have to wait.... Just the nature of the beast. My offer was great and I'm excited to be joining the company, even if the interview process could have gone better. Seems like a lot of people are complaining because they didn't get the job.

When did you interview and when did you get your offer?

The part you conveniently forgot to mention is most of the people here experiencing the "no good" are the ones who did not get the call back or the job right? What else would you expect.

WRONG.

Once again.......the complaint is b/c people were told they were going to have a f2f interview at a specific time. Candidates all have jobs to perform even though they are interviewing and need to plan accordingly. Keeping the candidate hanging and NOT letting a candidate know whether or not he/she is moving forward is the issue....not the fact that they weren't hired. Despite the fact that candidates interview, they still plan their work week so they can make appointments for their current job.

Being UNPROFESSIONAL is the complaint b/c the candidates were NOT GIVEN THE PROFESSIONAL COURTESY OF A PHONE CALL OR EMAIL to be informed of the situation.

What a bunch of pussies. No wonder you didn't get hired. Boo hoo they were unprofessional.
Have you EVER if you life received a call from a company not interested in you to say hey Mr. Rep thanks for coming in but you sucked ass in your interview so we are moving on to a better looking, younger, smarter version of you?

Move on with your life. I did. I went in with no expectations--left with no expectations. What I didn't like I bitched about it to their face. I asked them what is your stock package?
I didn't like it, asked that I politely be excused from the interview and consideration. that lady Robin don't remember last name, was floored. The look on her face is priceless.
Yep she will know how I am ;)
Verbatim: "Robin, what is your equity plan for new hires.?" ROBIN SAYS" Its going to be a range from 500 to 1,000 rsu's, and options haven't fully decided"
ME= "Robin, I have to be frank with you, this position does not fully excite me and the risk far outweighs the reward for me being a rep, maybe if I was a manager it would be different, so I would kindly ask that we conclude this interview and I am revoking my name for the possibly consideration of employment at Intermune"

That was it!! Just like that it was over!!
Now, I spent the other 3 days visiting my family in Phoenix for free. HAHA so I got the last laugh.

Yeah, sure you did.

Inventiv was an absolute joke at the hotel and they have been horrible to deal with. Multiple emails requesting same info. Ladies at hotel gave us a "pep talk" which was suitable for a fucking 22 year old copy salesman.

I have serious reservations about this company now based on how this whole process has unfolded.

I'm quitting pharma to start a recruitment company to compete with InVentiv. I'm running it out of my parents basement with two tin cans and a piece of string and should do WAY better than InVentiv.
