Immunology Sales Position

i don’t understand what they are even looking for! I had a phone interview with the DM. I have biological experience and have worked with specialty pharmacies extensively in the territory. The offices all know me and like me because I am local to them. Never heard a thing after....such BS

Because they want to get reps for cheap. Would you be happy with $105 base??? Hell no!

You got a taste of the Abbvie arrogance. They already had someone else in mind.

Senior DM here: Not so fast. No you are likely an arrogant, under-qualified, person with a caustic and abrasive sales personality, probably with non-professional attire. We see your types all the time. Think they know it all. That's why we sometimes opt for the newbie with an open mind and a golden sales personality.

$150 opening bid is beyond the pay range for a rep. Reps are not worth that. Most managers are not worth that. This is a relationship...you are not selling anything.

Yes, pods of three until apr. then reorg.

There is no 6 month reset for salary. You offer is your offer. With a mass hire, there is not back an forth.

this is a pharma rep role. there is nothing special or unique about it. To buy n bill, not clinic time, no special certification. You get the idea. Your value is already capped.

Car is average, as is phone, computer. Benefits are above average.

Its a good job - treat is with respect. Managers will be getting hammered for productivity and those other bullshit metrics for sales success - so, give them a break. Do you job, and things are fine.

The above is mostly CRAP. Only agree start salary of 150K is about 10K too high. Next we will not do pods of 3 til April...figure thru Feb only as reorgs start in Feb. Salary jump at 6 mo. is a fact, and if non performer you will be terminated within 12 mo max. You get choice of company car or use yours if insured to Co. requirements.

Lastly yes you are only a 'lowly' rep but remember your DM controls your career so treat them very well, respect, personal favors, gifts etc.

thanks for an honest post

I interviewed a few weeks ago with the manager and two reps. I have heard NOTHING back. I know I'm probably not moving on but isn't it standard to at least get a rejection call, text or email? I have reached out twice and still crickets.

Despite all the expansion hiring, the OP is correct, there will be layoffs in a year or so once they have gotten every thing they can out of Humira.

HR directing this to collecting resumes so when some reps on PIP get laid off they have some backfill in line if they need them.. you should stay away and count your blessings as any position you get will be only short term and if you f up you get blacklisted as well as canned.

Sure… As much as I would love to believe that this was a bad fit from the start(low pay, shitty outlook, etc), way too many tenured local abbvie employees have told me that this is a terrific situation and that the culture is fantastic. Do people in the inside really believe that this expansion/addition is doomed to fail? That seems idiotic.

Yes, selling humira before was great! But now it’s life is coming to an end and things are changing. They are getting psycho about maintaining, nay, GROWING scripts!! Offices feel our desperation a mile away. Docs can’t stand us anymore. My teammate even got banned from the highest potential doc in the entire region!!!

It is a good situation .... if your new to pharma and want experience

the manager I interviewed with was very nice but he did say more than once that the pressure was on to produce quickly

I can’t imagine how much pressure it will be to launch the new drug! AKA humira’s replacement

you are 100% correct, I have same experience here in NE. Humira is approaching end of life and the pressure is on here. One recent hire just quit in disgust after she got refused entrance at doc's office. Sense of reality is that many veterans will be leaving as their number dry up.
