Idorsia contract

I have had 3 virtual interviews with the hiring manger and the last required a powerpoint presentation and business plan. I received a email and phone call from recruiter notifying me to take a one way video interview before end of week with link sent to my email, they scheduled my interview in Phil with 2 managers and posibly passed on to RSD later in the day. For a contract job I have never seen hoops like this to jump through.

How come everyone's experiences are so different? I only had a phone interview and one Zoom with the manager. Then got told I am going to Dallas.
No presentation, business plan or video required.

One zoom with hiring mgr, one face to face with hiring mgr, then email invite to Dallas. Perhaps a video is forthcoming? Possibly managers have options when it comes to interviewing. Have heard for whatever reason morning slot is better than afternoon.
I'm assuming ideally 2 are sent to Dal/Phil for finals.
Do you leave with offer/rejection in hand?
If receive an offer, do you have to accept on the spot? Typically, companies give you adequate time to consider it.
Can anyone with prior contract experience please answer these questions?

I get it! :) No place is perfect. Maybe people feel otherwise. Contract definitely has some things going for it and Idorsia sounds decent (so far). But I don't think it is equivalent to having a stable job. Pharma is already unstable. Contract is way more unstable and tends to be temporary "projects" not meant to last past a year or 2, unless you get on a really good one. It's a big gamble. Why give up something stable for something most likely short term? What I like about Syneos is that they will place you in interviews after your contract ends. But that can be a grind, and you already have a job.
It’s such a gamble, but everything in life seems to be. The stability is comforting, but the grind of double digit sales goal growth year over year is wearing me down. I’m ready to not work 14 hour days, and while I know pharma isn’t easy, when I worked it in the past I remember at the end of the day you could pretty much be done with it until tomorrow morning. And that is super appealing.
Thanks again for talking this out with me! I appreciate the advice.

This is my take on the whole situation. I truly believe it depends on the hiring manager. If the hiring manager has a lot of experience with interviewing I do not think they would send you a video. I interviewed with the hiring manager and it was obvious he was well-versed in interviewing individuals as he’s been in Pharma for many years. With that being said, I wish everyone the best!

I had a 30 phoned call with DM. Then an hour zoom with DM. DM told me on the phone call I was going to Dallas.
Was sent an email from the recruiter with attachments about expense reimbursement, Syneos benefits and a link to an assessment.
The assessment was 7 questions with different scenarios. You had to pick from four answers as to which you were most likely to do.

I received all of that. But no assessment with questions.

So apparently one of the managers in NorthEast was fired from his last gig for frequenting massage parlors. I googled him and then went to to his old companies thread to see if anything was there, and saw that information.

So we've all decided to just gloss over this? I guess we would work for anyone of we need a job. I'll easily figure it out when I'm in Philadelphia, these perv boys are easy to spot.

Syneos sent confirmation of my trip to Philly. Below is how the letter read.

Congratulations! You have been invited to interview for the Syneos Health/Idorsia Specialty Sales Representative position. Please review all information carefully. The complete interview details including details of the required online assessment, can be found here:

Okay, I see it now. Thanks!

This hiring process has been the biggest joke ever. They are acting like it's for some highly specialized drug. It's absolutely ridiculous

I couldn't agree more. Isn't it just a start up company? I haven't even been through this with top big pharma companies. It makes me wonder what the actual job is going to be like. Pressure city?

It's an online assessment, but not a video assessment. There's a link at the beginning of the email to click that takes you to the situational questions to answer. Takes about 10 minutes or less.

Please let me know how this assessment is. Is it a timed assessment?
Please share as I’m just curious..
I have been in the pharmaceutical industry for many years and I really don’t remember anything like this..
I’m sure everyone who gets invited to the final interview will do just fine.
