So today, a day that saw most of my offices closed due to bitter cold, the company sends out an email saying that it will convert the remaining 3500 non-EV fleet vehicles to EV by year end. Given the issues batteries have with cold weather, it could not have been a more tone deaf announcement.

So far, they have deployed 1500. More than 2x that in less than a year? Not going to happen.

All of this to reach an arbitrary deadline...like Biden's disastrous retreat from Afghanistan. This will be a disaster as well.

Check out all the reported issues on the EV group on Workplace. They're even forcing EVs on people who live in highrises with no way to charge at home!

Someone is going to get hurt. Via an EV fire, getting stranded on the road or stuck at a charger and assaulted, etc. When it does, I hope some attorney takes the case.

According to peer-reviewed science, the implications of going beyond 1.5°C include : ● rising threats to global food security,arising from multiple, simultaneous bread basket failure ● vast regions of the world will be too hot to live in, including the tropics, home to 40% of the world’s population ● critical tipping points in the climate system will be crossed, potentially leading to a “hothouse earth".
There is no other choice but to radically reduce our carbon emissions.
