Electric Vehicle

Family of 4! Think before you speak stupid! The car is for sales rep's official drive. You can use it for your personal use when needed but that's not an entitlement. It's a privilege!! My work partner has a family of 6 plus 2 dogs. I hope she is not expecting AZ to give out a bigger car for that reason!!! Buy your own car for your family!
Thank you for the best post on this subject!! I can't believe our reps use their AZ cars for family excursions - - - WTH!!! They should definitely buy their own family cars! The VP of Sales needs to strictly control the sales reps.

It's not about safety or environment, its about image. What do people see and think. Electric ars aren't good for the world, they are actually worse than gas. Funny thing is, our leaders hop on jets to fly all over but we have to drive a tiny car to make them look responsible.

BINGO! like someone stated earlier....all about the "NARRATIVE" just like a political party in Washington. Now go maximize OMNI channel because we want to replace you by 2025 with telemarketers.

My question is are they gonna make my enormous territory smaller????? My longest office is over 5 hours away with hardly any charging stations in between. What do they expect us to do drive halfway to an office then park for hours on end to charge then keep going?? Sure hope they don’t expect the same execution numbers because I’m gonna be making about 2 calls per day after this nonsense! What the hell are they thinking!!

Does it matter? Just fake calls more than you already are. Easy peazy.

Superchargers can charge 80% of battery capacity in 15 minutes- I think you’ll be OK. Just get out there and sell some shit for a change, Stop bitching, start selling.

I forgot... Those supercharger stations are all over the place. Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Adirondack's of NY, Maine, NH, VT, Kansas, Nebraska, CO, Utah. etc..... Yeah, my bad. I see them more often than Starbucks.

It's a pretty sweet gig. 70 dollars a check for unlimited gas & insurance. Just thought I would add a little salt to your wound since our perk obviously is too much for you to handle. Yes. We pay to have the unlimited use of the car.

Correct. Not only do we pay for personal use of the company car, but if go over whatever the personal mileage threshold is, the IRS will tax that as a fringe benefit. So while it is a great benefit, it is not free.

Also, the company looks into the driving record of anyone in your family that you want to have the ability to drive the company car...and there is a fee for that too, If approved, they become authorized drivers. Noone else can drive the car.

So yes, if the company is going to charge us for personal use of the company car, then there should be some consideration of the rep's personal needs. For reps who live in urban areas, that car might be their only vehicle.

Which brings up an interesting point...if you live in an apartment and park on the street, how the hell do you charge overnight?

People are mentioning supercharger stations. Those are for Teslas exclusively. Trying to charge any other ev is difficult and time consuming. If urban territory and you fully charge over night probably get by, but any travel to over nights will be difficult if not impossible. Talked to a guy with a Kia ev at a tesla super charge station. Almost out of power and not able to get to anywhere that could charge his car. Said will cost him $400 to have it towed. As a tesla owner, chevy bolts rate at the bottom for ev performance. As one poster said, just an oversized golf cart.

do not let facts get in the way of a good narrative. Do you see leadership on Workplace post how great this is? God, couldn’t line up fast enough to do a sigmoidoscopy with their noses.

Problem here at AZ is fleet reports to finance with one director overseeing the entire sales force car options. Hence, if anyone has been here long enough AZ cars compared to other companies are some of cheapest options out there with no real upgrades. Remember when they first introduced the Rav4 hybrid it was the LE which was the most stripped down Rav 4 one could get.

Now we have the same problem with the electric cars. Fleet director needs to pitch this idea to finance so what do they do find the cheapest electric cars they can get and ones no other companies want hence the bolt being the car of choice. Finance is happy because car is cheap and saves the company money. Fleet director is given praise for making us go green and part of SET green vision. The reps are the losers in this deal as they are the ones having to drive them. And remember, AZ makes you keep cars for a very long time so expect to be in this bolt for years to come.

Smartest choice should have been to place a huge order of model y long range before all the price increases and car shortages back in 2019. Could have gotten a decent sized safe crossover with 330 miles of range and access to the supercharger network. I would have taken it even if it meant I had to pay more per month to have one. Not to mention teslas tend to depreciate a lot less than other electric cars. Bolts have shown terrible depreciation.

What about safety? I know many of us have sketchy parts of our territory out in the boonies. Do we really want to have to stop and charge somewhere for 30 min in a bad part of town? Odds are we would be sitting in the car doing admin work etc. That's more than enough time to get robbed or attacked. At least with a gas powered car I could fill up before I left home knowing I have more than enough fuel to last me the entire round trip home.

go by your own car then you unappreciative overpaid food delivery boy

Don't you just love these pithy retorts? Shows a high level of IQ to be able to make such an argument in the face of some very good points around not just the Bolt but also EV's in general. Probably one of those nose sigmoidologists referenced earlier.

Use your brain, if you have one.

If you use your personal car and get into an accident while working, neither the company nor your own insurance will cover you (many personal car insurance policies won't cover you if you use your vehicle for commercial work - you need a commercial policy for that).

I wish AZ would give us the option of a car allowance plus mileage rather than this shitbox.

Gotta love all of the posts on workplace by leadership and all of the corporate rear-end kissers about what a virtuous move this is for AZ. 90% of the comments are from people who work at hq and have a 15 minute commute!! Just shows how out of touch they are with the field.

I’ve been with AZ for 18 years and seen some dumb decisions but this one takes the cake.

That's not true! We have so many people in HQ commute for 2 hours or more in a day and managers push them to show up every day!! How does the zero carbon policy apply there??????????
