"Do Not Rehire" list?

A friend of mine that use to be a part time recruiter here said the policy was to put all known former reps, and reps that interviewed that looked over 40 on this list. She said it was to make the client companies happy and that direction came from the director of recruiting. Explains a lot.

The Director of Recruiting is over 40. Explains a lot.

There are also cases when zero to a few reps are rehired after a contract ends regardless of age. The tendency in some contract companies is to start from scratch every time. I have seen quite a few reps over 40 and 40 is actually pretty young. The contract I am about to finish has almost half over 50. Somewhere between 32-41 it starts becoming a bit difficult to determine age. Some reps look a little older and some look much younger than you think. Unless you really study a resume, it's difficult to assume by appearance. All you have to ask is the date they graduated from college or high school. Have you ever noticed that they always want to know years attended or graduated regarding education. They might as well ask outright because that's basically what companies are doing. The over 40 thing is something I see on the pharma side but not as much on the contract. I've seen quite a few over 50.

Blocking older reps is a step toward sales result failure....

Most older reps have excellent skills, know how to get results and have solid work ethic, especially if they're handling major life responsibilities. They need the job, value it and do not take anything for granted. They work and work hard.

We cannot say this for many young new hires. Many are still at home with the moms and pops and see this as a quick buck. Spend money that buys clothes and vacations. Stay to get a little experience then split. Most need a lot of training and hand holding.

Two different approaches, reasons for working....and level of results.

Old reps do nothing but bitch and moan. If you need proofs look at all their countless posts on here. Hey dummy, this is not "sales" you old turd, it's pharma product promotion. None of you whiny clowns would last a week in real sales that is why you are on here begging for scraps in this this ridiculous industry.

Yes from the top down, the Recruiting Department does not have any education, training or experience to be doing this job. For most this is their first recruiting job. Completely clueless and arrogant. The way they treat applicant's is deployable. Forget it if you are older.

Yes, and HR is on the heels of the incompetent Recruiting Department. Never get any calls returned, nor do they know what they are doing, but seems to be a lot of them around.

"HR is on the heels of the recruiting department". LOL Funniest and most ridiculous comment I have seen in ages, No they are not on their heels dimwit. You know why? Because they simply do not care. Everything at this place is done half way and no one in HR or any other department cares if things are done correctly and fairly. This place is a den of apathy and incompetence. You seriously have never noticed that? PSS is just a dumping ground for old reps unemployable elsewhere and people using it as a second job so they can work for a real company in the future, The fact that you think HR is here to help you is absolutely hilarious. If you are truly that naive and misdirected I feel sorry for you.

Recruiting called me, a former employee, and I am in late 50's

"The way they treat applicant's is deployable". Deployable?? Good lord I knew you CSO hacks were incompetent and desperate for any job but you obviously are illiterate as well. Deployable? LOL

Hey, Bozo, it's considered B2B in the real world....even though it is customer service after the buy in...

Actually in the real world no one with half a brain considers pharma B2B sakes. You don't sell anything and you have no clue how to sell anything. You drop samples, fake calls and cater food. The fact that you think you are in sales shows what a clueless clown you are. The real world laughs at pharma reps and that is why none of you doofus lazy dummys can work in the rel world and are stuck here in this rapidly dying industry.

I work in home office and how AA got to be head of recruiting here was and is a constant source of gossip. AA basically set up the former director (LD) over a long period of time who was supposedly a good friend of hers and staged a coup d'etat. The recruiting people here are always a source of great amusement to us because of all the drama, back stabbing and tremendous dysfunction. If you ever met AA you would fully understand why she is in her role. I would not trust her to cross the street unless she saw something substantial in it for her. Personally I embarrassed that we employ people like that here.

Well, well well, this should get interesting because Lori has already started her revenge and has the key to a lot of recruiting locked closets over loaded with skeletons. Grab you popcorn because the drama from recruiting dept. is surpassing even the weirdness we knew before!

I work in a HR related department here at Publicis HQ. We got hit with 2 more EEOC lawsuits last month (February). It is quite interesting watching the recruiters and recruiting department scurry away from this list like they are on fire. When asked about the DNR list the management in recruiters is playing the deaf and dumb routine to a hilarious level. They have embarrassed the entire company and every other division and department here. This has been quite the soap opera around here!
